Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1968 Chevy Camaro 2 Door Coupe. I have owned this car for 13 years and it has been garage kept and covered every day I have owned it. It was also garage kept every day from previous owner to the best of my knowledge. This Camaro has a 350 V8 engine, Turbo 350 transmission, Holley 650 double pumper carb, 12 bolt rear with 3.73 gears. History/Reason I am selling: I purchased this car in the spring of 2002 from a local owner. Right after purchasing the car I also purchased new interior for it (seat covers (front/back), headliner, rear deck lid, carpeting, weather stripping, etc.) which I intended to get installed that winter, and which do come with the car to whomever purchases it. However, before winter came I had an accident that left me paralyzed from the waist down so I couldn't finish the interior as originally intended. I had always planned on keeping the car so I wanted to make it handicap accessible. That is the reason the car is an automatic right now. Although, the clutch pedal is still in place should the buyer decide to take it back to a manual transmission. Sorry that in the pics the car looks a little dirty, but it is hard for me to clean it good being in a chair (and I didn't want to burden anyone else). The Good/Bad: The Good: (These are just a few of the "Goods"; I figure the rest of the good will speak for themselves in the pics) Solid BodyGood paint (only minor scratches, and one or two little dings I have seen)Strong running engineNew interior comes with the car (as mentioned above), just needs installedNew ignitionNew battery Was just in shop to get brand new front drums and pads, readjusted rear drums, and all fluids checked and topped The Bad: (This is pretty much all the bad we were able to find) Minor scratches and the ding or two I mentioned above (one is right above the passenger side wheel well)other scratch/blemish is on front of car on racing stripe and the Camaro emblem on the front driver side fell off (think it got snagged on the cover when taking it off); Emblem is there just needs re-adheredInterior is a little rough in current condition (but new stuff comes with car)Missing center console (never had it when I purchased it (probably because it was a manual trans at the time), and I liked it better without so kept it that way)Rear passenger side split-window is down (believe it is just off the track because it did work when car was purchased)Underneath does have some rust and 2 small holes (one on passenger side by wheel well and one on the driver’s side near rear of door)Floor pans are a little soft, no holes in them but a little soft (have some give to them but you can’t poke a screwdriver through them or anything like that) Overall: This is a very nice rolling restoration Camaro that is turn-key and go; can be a great hot rod to rip around in on nice days as is; not a show car in current condition, but could be if you wanted to put in the time and effort; otherwise just needs a little TLC to get the interior in, etc. that due to my injury I could no longer give it. I will be happy to answer any questions anyone may have to the best of my ability (Just use the "Ask Seller a Question" and if needed we could get a phone call to discuss).
