Vehicle Detail
Original, unrestored car that has some small bumps and bruises from being driven. This car was stored and the interior is real nice (with the exception of a tear in the headliner, but it doesn't keep me from driving and enjoying it) and complete- all the way down to the WORKING factory AM radio and speaker! The seats are soft and pliable (no, you don't have to worry about them cracking or anything crazy when you sit on them) and don't "lean", or have a squished down pad (where the driver got in and out for 200k miles), they still have the deluxe factory upholstery that match the door panels which are adorned by the Maverick emblem. The carpet could probably use a shampoo, but it's FAR from bad condition (nice enough to re-use on a mild restoration), with zero tears and the rubber heal pad in place and not peeling up and no smokey, or weird smells. The windshield is cracked, but the car comes with a correct take-out replacement windshield and new weatherstripping for it. Strong running, great sounding 302 with stock intake, carburetor, exhaust manifolds and air cleaner (the car original, all the way down to the points ignition). Solid shifting C4 that has NEVER given me any concerns. The car is 4-wheel drum brakes and stops STRAIGHT (with NO hands on the wheel as shown in the video linked or listed below) , but comes with later model disc brake Maverick spindles and everything attached to them (USED) and the disc-drum master cylinder. ZERO cancer on this car, FACTORY paint on the trunk floor! No filler, factory "Grabber Green" paint. Both front fenders have got a coat of aftermarket paint at some point, but you can see the factory paint showing where some of the aftermarket paint has flaked off. I have checked these fenders with a paint thickness gauge (as seen in my video linked/listed below) and they have no filler in them, so I don't know why they were re-painted. The leading edge of the hood, towards the right side has a small section where the paint is bubbling up, but when you look at the side or the bottom of the hood, the issue can't be seen, so that small area could use some light work on it. The car is on factory Ford Magnum 500 14x7 rally wheels with new tires out back and decent tires up front. The wheels are missing the center caps, but they are available from reproduction suppliers if you can't find originals. It has the factory windshield wipers with fresh inserts connected to the working wiper system. I daily drove this car for a while and it did everything it's supposed to do! Get yourself an EASY restoration candidate, or just DRIVE IT! Watch the video below that includes a road test.
