I am relisting this 1940 LaSalle again (my apologies to those who had already placed bids) as Ebay removed it because I didn't enter a VIN number in the listing. The VIN number is now shown below. 1940 Cadillac LaSalle convertible coupe model 52. VIN NUMBER 40-5267, BODY 101. This LaSalle is just out from a lengthy storage. This car does not have a title, a bill of sale will be provided for the new owner. Not very many of this particular model were ever made. The odometer reads 62,371 miles. Presently the engine is not running but does turn freely by hand so it is not seized. It is very complete other than missing the original jack. Body is very solid for it's age having a few small holes in the floor only on the passenger side front near the aluminum sill plate which can be seen in one of the photos. I could not find any other rust holes in the floor. The trunk is also solid with no visible rust holes. The passenger side lower quarter panel will need some repair as there is a small hole in the bottom corner just under the stainless trim molding which can be seen in the photos. There is surface rust and some small dings and dents here and there, but can be expected from a car that is 75 years old. The doors open and close perfectly and are incredibly straight. All parts of the convertible top are intact with nothing missing. The canvas top itself will need to be replaced. The car rolls easy and all tires hold air even though they are old. I do have the fourth wheel cover. This LaSalle needs and deserves a total restoration. If you have any questions write me and will answer the best I can.
