Vehicle Detail
Real 2U87 FORMULA Firebird PHS Documented car, with new 455 ci motor with just over 1500 miles on professional rebuild ; and transmission. 400+ Horsepower Pump gas motor with rare 1971 96 casting heads.( Complete Drivetrain Overhaul ). #7041262 Q-JET NOS Carburerator (divorced choke). Car still has original brake calipers ,lines, booster, delco moraine rear cylinders, with shoes & pads replaced. Recent new Correct master cylinder. Car has one repaint in 1988 ,and is still in Lacquer Paint. Very nice factory floors, trunk, and chassis, that are all original never rusted . New U.S. Dessert Cooler Radiator 4 Core. New Antique R89W Delco Energizer Battery. G code 2:73 Safe-T-Track positraction rearend gear for excellent long distance traveling. Car drives out strait with no issues. Nicest F body lines and gaps you will see on a firebird trans am car. Motor was professinaly done by a Pontiac engine only builder, Firegoat1 whom can be looked up on ebay. I will post engine specs soon. Car has been stored in a climate controlled garage its entire life. There is NO painted over rust or even rust scale or powder on this cars chassis. All smooth metal which hard to find. Interior is all nice original and has never been out of car. Factory carpet still shows well. Car is one of 289 Formulas with the Y99 Handleing Package known to 73 Trans am's only. ( 11/4 frt. sway bar, 7/8 rear ) . Story on the car is, I intended on making it into a SD455 car. I started restoreing the car from the chassis up then drivetrain. Car was so clean that all of the factory red oxcide primer was still there but thin. Underneath was repainted in red oxide epoxy, from the firewall back. Camera filter makes it look red er than it is.( Its correct.). All bushings replaced in rear with ProThane.. Under hood is original unrestored. All rubber weather strips still original an decent. There are no aftermarket parts on car, other than bushings, all NOS parts, including new Wheel Moldings, Shift Plate, and Shifter Knob. Hood is uncut. Everything works, Tach all Guages, even the windshield washer works. Radio does not and has never been out for service yet, along with 8-Track. Things that need attention. Endura Bumper paint is cracking. Valence has a small crack in it. Someone prior to me painted the honeycomb wheels in Laquer paint and they are cracking. Rest or car paint is good with minor checks an cracks and shows well. Car drives out strait with no issues, recently drove to Pontiac Nationals and would drive it any where in the country. This car is originally a FORMULA 350 car that I upgraded to a 455. So car come with 2 motors. The factory numbers matching 350 that is also rebuilt, and the 455 that's in it. Like I said I was to build it into a SD455 4-Speed car but never got time. Car also goes with a pile of parts to take it to the next level, which will be easy, its already a hard to find ,nice car. Then to a collector in Virginia where I purchased it. Was one of 3 car's purchased from a small collector 's estate whom passed. I have stored car in heated/air climate garage as well. Bought new in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, from Christy Pontiac GMC INC. Car was ordered and optioned with a engine block heater, in which I have a NOS one to go with it. Car has never been in the rain since I've owned it. I will list a few more things since this was kind of a thrown together listing; for a quick investment elsewhere. All factory wireing on car is perfect. Fuse Block has no corrosion and under dash wires untouched. Key and seatbelt warning lights buzzer's still work. Clock does not. No cut radio wires . Spiral shocks were still on the car when I bought it, and still have them. New KYB gas shock's installed at 63,000 miles. All of the factory inspection chaulk markings ,and tags were still on the car. All inspection paint marking's put back exactly as they were. The original markings were not rusted ,or faded off the car; like most. All the factory bolts on the car, still on it in the right holes. One rear sway bar bolt was missing as seen in pics. Most all chassis muffler hanger's, brackets ,bolts replated, in zinc and black oxcide. Original, Power Beam headlights still on car, and work. Factory jack & spare still in un rusted trunk. Most chrome moldings & diecast still nice un pitted. Front fenders, shock tower's, inside of rear frame rails, inside of rear valance, NO RUST at all ever. Front Suspension all original w/ Moog idler arm replaced only. Car drives out strait as it is, but I do have a New Moog ProThane.Frt.. end kit that goes with car. Doors shut right all body gaps tight. Correction on 2nd ad is Car has never been raced or twisted. The car that ran the 12;46 quarter mile was a 72 Firebird with same Motor Combo, run at Norwalk Pontiac Nationals. (GU2 2:73 safe-t track rear end is original to my car.) Most F-Body cars body lines and gaps are always a mess. This car is one of the straitest I have seen. Way to much to list on car and the pictures in listing are not the greatest. Anyone interested in car I will send more pictures on ay area's needed, as Ebay only allowed 24. I will try to insert a photobucket tab on listing. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, and if serious I will give you my number. Thankyou.
