2005 Volkswagen Passat diesel. this car was bought new by my brother who moved to south Florida shortly afterwards, most of the miles are highway. maintenance was done with oil changes every 4000 miles with the correct Volkswagon oil. due to marital problems he sent me this car along with a Mercedes diesel which is also up for auction. this Passat needs an oil pump. This is a common problem failure on these engines. when it failed it was immediately shut down so the engine is fine. you can get an oil pump delete kit at kermatdi dot com which is the cheapest and probably best way to fix it. I'm sure there are other kits available. there are also plenty of YouTube videos explaining the problem with these cars and how to fix them. I was planning to fix this up myself but the cars got beat up in shipping. they were stuck at a depot in Miami and the shipping company really screwed me over. the batteries got stolen on all three cars and some damage was done to the front facia panels (see pictures) which kind of took the wind out of my sails for doing anything with them. Transmission was replaced at 200k. these cars have been sitting for about 6 months so need so good cleaning. also my brother's wifes hobby was eating at various fast food places so the interior could really use a good scrubbing. other than that it's pretty nice car. the other aluminum rim is in the back trunk along with an extra spare.any questions please ask.On Aug-30-15 at 06:19:48 PDT, seller added the following information: When the pump failed it was immediately shut down on the road and towed to a mechanic in Florida he said the engine was fine and I believe he also did a compression test. The engine will run but do not recommend running for more than a few seconds. Anybody wants to come look at it just email me.
