Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7. I bought this car with intentions of restoring her @ 2005, then I had a child, so the car became a storage shelf in my basement, where it has been sitting just as I purchased it, every since. I realize now that I am never going to get to the car and rather than see it sit and ruin, I'd like to pass it on to someone with the means and knowledge of restoring her. I drove the car about 40 miles home when purchased without an issue. The engine was very strong, transmission shifted well, brakes were good and steering was nice and it sounded wicked nasty. It has been around the block and to the gas station here and there, but for the most part it has just collected dust in my basement, along with anything it would hold. Condition: Of c course it is nearly 50 years old and it is not Barret Jackson material. It needs restoration, The body was scuffed and sprayed with a black sealer by the previous owner, I know there is some filler in the car, if I remember he said around the rear wheel wells, a little in the low rockers, around the rear valance etc. Also some scratches a couple of spots on the hood where the paint was coming off, the roof wasn't sanded too great, He had planned on having it blasted and just wanted it to look clean while working on the mechanics, the car was originally light yellow color, there is some silicone around the front and rear glass, previous owner said it was a quick fix to a leak. Car looks straight, doesn't appear to have ever been in any collision to me, front passenger side floor pan needs replaced, it did not get the frame rail and there is enough left that a patch panel would work fine. Needs a new headliner, it has come loose around the rear window corners, Seats are good, one small tear in the passenger side, dash pad is good but it is warped from the sun, passenger side window gets hung up sometimes. Car has what I was told is it's original running gear, a 289 which has been beefed up a little, I can't remember everything done to it, it does have headers, an aluminum intake, edelbrock 4 brrl and it runs good. Transmission will need a new front seal from sitting and it drying out, it works fine but it will leak fluid. Headlights work as they should, tail lights do not. This is an xr7 with power steering and disc brakes, new (when I bought it) dual exhaust with flow master mufflers turned down midway of the car, air shocks. I have extra parts that come with the car, an extra windshield, an extra pair of front bucket leather seats, alot of odd and end parts I have placed in the trunk. I also have a complete set of 1969 Mustang Mach 1 wheels that I purchased for the car that I will let go with it if the high bidder wants them. This car has a Clear Title. I really want to see this car put to use rather than occupying my basement so there is NO RESERVE HIGH BIDDER WINS. Please ask any questions prior to bidding, if you need additional photos I will do my best to get them for you, This car will start and drive on its own power, meaning that it will easily load but I would not set out across Country in it as it has the seal issue and has been sitting close to 10 years. All sales are final as is where is, buyer is responsible for transport cost, Once auction ends you have 5 days to pay for the car in full, once paid I will hold the car for you at no cost while you arrange transport and I ask that if you are using a transport service, they notify me in advance of pick up rather than just showing up at the door, 24 hrs notice is preferred. I reserve the right to cancel any bid I feel is fraudulent because ebay sure doesn't do much to protect sellers anymore. Thanks for viewing my auction. On Aug-20-15 at 21:13:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Had a buddy upload a couple of videos on you tube of the car running but Good ol' ebay won't allow the link So go to you tube type in Ricky Hendrix 67 cougar xr72 and 67 cougar xr7 if you would like to see them
