I'm happy to offer for a sale this BEAUTIFUL color combination 2003 Discovery SE! It has been very well cared for and drives like a dream and looks absolutely stunning in Chawton White over Alpaca Beige! Let's dive right in! Background:Let me begin with a little background. This gorgeous Rover was ordered as a near fully loaded SE model which offered the big standard 4.6L engine and was adorned with many extras on top of the standard luxury. Aside from the dual zone climate control, power windows, locks, mirrors, seats, etc, etc, etc, that every Disco came standard with from the factory, the SE and this truck took it much further! The SE package added full leather seating, burled wood and alcantra accents, 18" Hurricane Wheels, fog lights, dual sun roof, headlamp washers, load space cover and much more. And those little details make a huge difference and make this truck go head to head with many more modern trucks! The cabin becomes increasingly warmer in feel and finish and steps up the details of luxury to a level not even seen in future generations of Land Rover. This SE came out of the factory in a beautiful color combination: Chawton White over Alpaca Beige Leather. It is truly in a BEAUTIFUL and CLASSIC color package. This white beauty lives in sunny, dry, temperate Southern California since and is rust free!!!! It was serviced by Land Rover of Newport Beach as well as very respected independent Rover shops here in SoCal and even while being driven very little, kept in dry storage, started often and serviced with dedication and care. It keeps getting better! Let's continue to the service! The Condition and Service: This truck has been ENTHUSIASTICALLY and PROFESSIONALLY maintained and serviced and is a high standard for Rover service! Let's start on the engine and drivetrain:This engine has great miles for the year (a normal average of about 10,000 a year), 118,000 miles appear on the odometer though the truck shows as one with half of that. It was driven and enjoyed as it should be, but being owned by someone who wanted to enjoy it for decades, it was showed more than generous preemptive care. There has been A TON of scheduled and preventive maintenance performed to this truck to keep in near brand new condition. The engine is very healthy and has loads of smooth power! With even a crack of the throttle it, more than many other Rovers, feels torquey and powerful, and effortlessly pulls away! Don't feel you need to commit to buy an insanely low mile Rover in order to get a solid, worry-free truck. With proper care and a knowledgeable touch, a well serviced truck with a normal average sampling of miles will be exponentially more reliable than "well it has low miles, so I haven't done much to it" truck. The key to a happy Rover is maintenance! And a happy Rover will go and go and go happily for hundreds of thousands of miles. And this happy Rover has received LOADS of preventative maintenance. -HEAD GASKETSAs part of the preventive service schedule, this truck received BRAND NEW OEM head gaskets and OEM head bolts. This service was done within the past 1,000 miles as part of this truck's ongoing preventative care. THIS is the maintenance you want to see on a Rover! The truck runs COOL as can be and has never overheated. The cylinder heads were totally rebuilt, cleaned, decked and pressure checked! BRAND NEW valve cover gaskets, valley pan gaskets and seals, front cover gasket, timing chain and gears, crank shaft seal and upper intake gaskets, all resealed among a few other minor seals. These were done in order to keep with the same high regard and care. The upper and lower intakes, valve covers and front cover were thoroughly cleaned. -CRANK SEALBRAND NEW crank seal. These all tend to drip a bit on Rovers - fear not with this brand new seal! -RADIATORRadiator flows fantastic and keeps this beauty nice and cool. The temp needle NEVER moves past 3 o'clock even with the AC on and in traffic. BRAND NEW expansion tank cap. The proper OAT coolant is used and brand new! -WATER PUMPAs part of the overall service a brand new water pump was installed as well! Not once did this truck show a need for it, but it was done as part of the dedicated service to keep it in tip top shape and ready for the owner to go LOADS of care free miles. -THERMOSTATBRAND NEW thermostat! A piece of cheap insurance to continue to protect and maintain the Rover cooling system -IGNITIONBRAND NEW Champion coppers (the RIGHT plugs) and NGK wires. -BATTERYNewer battery!! Cranks hard and fast everytime! -BELTBRAND NEW serpentine belt and BRAND NEW belt tensioner -AIR FILTERNewer air filter! -EMERGENCY BRAKERecently adjusted and tight, only a couple notches on the handle holds the truck tight -TRANSMISSIONThe trans was just given all new fluid and shifts great! -DIFFERENTIALSNew gear oil in the diffs! -CATALYTIC CONVERTORSNo scents or rattles! Lets move to the suspension and brakes: -BRAKESBRAND NEW master cylinder. Newer brakes pads in the front and rear, the truck brakes great. No ABS lights! No 3 Amigos lights. No traction control lights or issues! -SHOCKSGreat feeling OEM shocks. They are soft on bumps and tight in corners. The trucks handles wonderfully! -4WD SYSTEM4WD Low and High both work great! New Transfer Case oil! Let's continue to the exterior: -PAINTThe paint is very nice! It is a 8 out of 10 easily. Shiny, beautiful Chawton White paint was recently polished, finished and waxed by a highly acclaimed detailer here in LA. It looks FANTASTIC. CLEAN and CLEAR CarFax. NO ACCIDENTS. There are few very minor dings, scratches and flaws which are very hard to see in pics and in person. Remember this is a near 12 year old truck with totally original paint, there may be some minor scratches, wear etc, but they are well below any expectation level for Discovery or cars of this year. Even against more modern cars the paint will compete head to head - it really is quite nice. This is a dry SoCal truck! That means no rust lurking under the surface ready to pop up and ruin your paint! If there was a place to buy ANY Rover, it is dry, warm SoCal. No rain and no road salt! -TIRESLoads of tread life left on the tires! Fronts have 80% and rears are 50%! -WHEELSThe Hurricane wheels look absolutely stunning on the Rover! They were just recently polished and look great. There is some minor flaws, but because of the overall shine and shape, not very noticeable. -BUMPERS, VALANCES and PLASTICSThe bumpers are in nice shape and free of the typical sun fade that is so common in them. They, along with the other plastic or rubberized plastic trim, shines beautifully! The lower grill and valance are very nice and the foglights are free of cracks or issues! These little bits of trim quality and integrity drastically increase the look and beauty of a Disco! -GLASSNot to let a pebble defeat this truck, the windshield is great shape because it sports a BRAND NEW windshield! Beautifully clear glass makes a world of difference. It makes the truck feel brand new! The door glass is wonderful shape! Most Rovers see lots of chipping and fading on the tinted windows. Not this one!! Great tint. -TRAILER HITCHThe Rover has a factory trailer hitch! -UNDERCARRIAGENice undercarriage! No rot or trail scars. Onto the cabin: -SEATSThe Alpaca Beige leather seats are in nice shape. The leather is SO soft and comfortable. I truly love driving this truck. You sit high and comfortably in these buttery soft seats! The dark brown piping offsets the Alpaca Beige leather perfectly! The leather has been very well cared for and shows some minor flaws at. There is a very small tear on the bottom of the drivers seat cushion. It sits flush with panel and minor. There is some light wear on the seat in a few other small spots, but shows pretty nice and is still very comfortable. The little flaws don't take away from the interior, I just like to point out anything I see! The interior has been recently cleaned and conditioned as well and is overall is very nice shape! -DOOR PANELSNone of the typical suede dirt or staining on the door panels! -HEADLINERBRAND NEW headliner looks fantastic! -EMERGENCY BRAKE BRAND NEW e-brake boot! -CARPETBeautiful carpet in the truck! It has been shampooed and cleaned as part of the overall detail. -POWER SEATSAll power seat functions work perfect! Hard to find in a Disco! -POWER WINDOWSAll windows work smooth and quickly! Another hard to find in a Disco! -KEYLESS ENTRYThe keyless entry system is functional, but the key pad on the key has the typical Disco broken buttons. Power locks work just fine. -SUNROOFBOTH sunroof work perfectly! A Disco rarity! Moreover, all four sunshades are unbroken and work perfectly! Nearly ever Discovery sunshade has at least one broken clip, not this beauty! -RADIOOEM radio is in nice shape and sounds good! Comes with a Cassette with a aux cable which allows for your iPhone or standard headphone jack style player to broadcast through the OEM stereo. Rear seat audio controls are in great shape! -AC/HEATAC is arctic cold and heat is earth core hot! -MIRRORSPower mirrors work perfectly! -CENTER REAR VIEW MIRRORTake a look at the pics. The self dimming ink has not popped and bled in the mirror like 95% of other Disco's. A true rarity!!! -STEERING WHEELThe leather is nice, no tears or issues or major issues, minor wear only! It has been conditioned and feels great in your hands! -CARGO AREARear carpet is fantastic! The ExperienceDriving this Discovery is fantastic. It is Lexus quiet inside, pulls and handles like a sports car and is as comfortable as a Rolls Royce. Its got all the power it had from the factory an then some, and from even a little gas is torquey and responsive. I hope you can tell by my long ad that this truck is a great pre-owned and beautiful Range Rover. There are other Discovery, but if you do find one for sale and it has more methodical service, I urge you to buy it! Remember, Rovers take a little extra care and feeding, so a Rover with 80k miles with questionable, unknown or poor service history is worth about as much as a Slurpee if you add up all the service that will need to be done to make it a reliable, beautiful, solid truck again. Don't spend big money on a truck from a "turn-em-and-burn-em" style dealer when all they do to promote the truck is say a few things they think people like to hear. As you may tell from my ad, I know the care that these trucks need and the details that make them tier 1, from a tier 2 or worse and I hope to have addressed them to those of you that know as well. If an ad says "Low miles and well cared for" Ask questions! If you don't get thorough, well addressed answers, start planning more money and more aspirin. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION! If you were to add up all of the recent items in this truck, you would find well over $8k in recent retail scheduled and preventive service and restoration alone. This truck is ready to go live another 150k+++ miles of beautiful, reliable, enjoyed life in your hands.
