Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 1977 Jaguar XJ right hand drive automobile with less than 29,500 original miles. Being known in my town as a Car Guy all of my life, I was approached a few years ago by an Englishman living a few blocks away regarding purchasing his 1977 XJ as he was moving back to England. He had purchased it several years earlier & hadn't driven it very much while here in the states. He stated that he was the second owner. I went to his home to check it out & was thrilled with it's originality & lack of rust. It appears to have been garaged since new. While it does have some minor touch ups & door dings, the body & paint is in great condition considering it's now 38 years old. I have tried to show some door dings that the car has acquired over the years, but not sure how well they will show in the photo's. A paintless dent guy should be able to remove them. I just never made the effort as I wasn't interested in showing the car. The interior is also in remarkably good shape, again being all original, with only minor cracking showing on the front seats. If the new owner chose to have the seats dyed, they would look new, but being a purist, I prefer the original patina indicating that this is an original, untouched & unrestored car. The vinyl top is also in great condition as well as the burlwood dash. While taking the pictures last night, I found that the left rear window was not functioning. Not sure if it's the switch or motor. I just want to be up front about it. The car comes with it's original tool kit & car cover. Being a right hand drive automobile, I had a lot of fun watching the reaction of people around me while stopped at a traffic light with my 10 year old grand daughter in the left seat. I have driven this car from my home in southern N.J.(near Philadelphia) to New York City & back with no worries. It runs very well at highway speeds & retains great oil pressure after warm up. I would have no hesitation driving this car anywhere. It runs, shifts & drives like a new automobile. Having over 20 cars in my collection, as retirement approaches, I have decided to sell a few of my cars that I am not as passionate about as some others so that I can reach a more manageable level ( I don't have the energy that I once had ). Now, for all the disclaimers: Local interested parties are welcome to inspect the car prior to bidding. While it is the buyers responsibility to arrange shipping, I will assist in any reasonable way that I can. Please have your finances in order prior to bidding. I will cancel any bidders with less than 5 transactions, or recent negative feedback unless buyer/seller communication prior to bidding. I require a $500 Paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end & payment in full within 7 days. I can store the car for up to 1 month from auction end if necessary to assist the buyer while making shipping arrangements. Please feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. On Jul-23-15 at 16:00:27 PDT, seller added the following information: I pulled & reviewed the file that I received with the car which indicates that I am in fact the 3rd owner of the car. The original owner sold the car in 1989, where it resided in England until the second owner moved to the US in 2003.. I hold the import documents showing that the car was brought into the country Oct. 10, 2003. I also have many of the annual MOT inspections which help verify the current mileage to be accurate. Some of the years showing approximately 240 miles within that given year. All documentation will go along with the car. I have had several requests for a Buy it Now price. If that is the path that I wanted to go, I would have listed it in that way so please don't ask. Bid with your heart & wallet & hope for the best, or make me a reasonable offer. I followed a similar car on Ebay last week that sold for just over $16k, & another was listed in this months SCM magazine selling in England for the equivalent of $54,800 so you be the judge.
