Vehicle Detail

This 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia Bus is a one of a kind!! A True Survivor! The 1.7 motor was upgraded to an early 80's 2.0 Liter. It has been completely rebuilt with NEW Heads, Pistons, Rings, Bearings, turned crank and machined block. All outer engine Components were replaced NEW and updated like Electronic Ignition, Dual Carbs, Electronic Fuel Pump, etc. This 2.0 Liter has Hydraulic Lifters and that means NO Adjusting of the valves every time you change the oil like on a type 1 motor or older 1.8 and 1.7 Liter pancake motors. ALL engine Sheet Metal was Powder Coated a "Hammered Blue". An 091 Transmission out of an early 80's Vanagon was fully rebuilt. Also a Higher 4th gear was put in to achieve faster Highway speeds while keeping Engine at lower RPM's. New Clutch, Pressure Plate, Throw Out Bearing, Resurfaced Flywheel and Rebuilt Transmission have less than 3,000 miles on them. The Interior is ALL Original except Front Seats which were recovered with Genuine Volkswagen Style Vinyl Seat Covers. The Bench seat that folds into a bed for 2 people has been very comfortable to sit or Sleep on for me and my wife. The Sink / Cooler Combo is missing. The Upper Canvas Cot that will sleep one is in Good Condition. The kids Cot that goes over the front seats. is in Great Condition!!! and really helps with separate sleeping areas when you have a little one, or just want to put other items to store in a Clean area. The Rear Mosquito Net buttons in perimeter of rear hatch for a more breezy nap in the afternoon. The door panels have some wear at the usual bottom areas. Just installed AM/FM CD Stereo about 3 months ago. There are two door panel speakers. Just Installed a NEW Power Jack for Mobile phone chargers. Radio and Phone Jack are Powered when bus is not running also. The original table leg is missing, though it has a temporary I've been using whole time I've owned it. The "COOL Factor" is, most Interior is unmolested, Genuine Westfalia Camper Conversion. The Tent has a few small tears at the bottom right at back and a couple in front where it has gotten hung up in the Pop-Top folding Rod Braces. I pressure washed the Tent and had NO dripping leaks into the interior. I've camped in pouring down rain and had NO leaks. (I was pleasantly surprised!!). It is a TUFF Old School Tent!! The Zippers on Screens right and left of Tent are stuck; (might be able to massage some lubricant and get them to work?) The Rear Tent Screen Zipper does work and ironically the screen is ripped, though I unzip it anyway for air flow. The Exterior Paint was originally Brown and White. Someone or two? had some fun doing their thing painting Hippi theme. Needs the wind shield replaced; (cracked). It is a 43 year old bus and it does have rust underneath. There are some lower body panels that could be replaced if someone so desires. I do have a spare tire, jack and lug wrench for it and can tell you much more about it when we talk. The Front and Rear Suspension Bars were customized to lower the bus. The Shocks, Tie Rod Ends and Ball Joints were new 4 years ago., (less than 12,000 miles) We recently completed a brake system inspection. All 4 Brake Soft Lines were replaced. The rear Brake Wheel Cylinders and Shoes were replaced. The front alipers and pads were in great shape (Pads 60%). Calipers and Drums were replaced before I bought it and can clearly see were fresh less than 20K miles ago. Also we Completely Flushed the Brake Lines and has ALL New Brake Fluid. (Less than 2 months ago). Bus has less than 12,000 miles on EVERYTHING I have done to it. I drive it occasionally in the summer in The Great Northwest and start it a few times in the Winter. You know who you are who LOVE Just Like it Is!! I have enjoyed it JUST like it is for 4 years. If you don't like people waving at you and giving peace signs and big smiles then this is NOT the bus for you!! :-) I have spent over $13,000 building this bus. My family and I have REALLY enjoyed it!!! I am selling this AS IS with NO Warranties. You are welcome to arrange shipping at your own expense. The Purchaser and I will complete the purchasing transaction within 2 business days from the end of the Auction. I require a $2,000 down payment at end of Auction through Pay-Pal. The Balance Due can be overnighted via Cashiers Check. (We can talk about this if you have different ideas). I will be paid in full before Bus leaves my possession. I do have a clear Washington State Title in my name and will sign it with a Bill of Sale and overnight it when paid Balance in Full. I do reserve the right to remove the listing at any time. I am ONLY listing it on E-bay during the E-bay Auction it is now listed in! I very much do not want to sell it. I have WAY too many cars! I am confident you will enjoy this Customized Hippy Bus as we have. Thank you for looking :-)
