A very fun convertible in a desirable color combination. The Thunderbird was a personal luxury car in the 60’s and this car has been maintained as you expect an expensive convertible to be. It has had 2 owners, the first drove it 79k miles over 13 years and the second owner drove it 6k miles over the past 37 years, he called it his “parades & prom car”. It starts with a turn of the key and runs fine. It is reliable – recently driven from Cincinnati to Detroit and back for the 60th Anniversary Celebration of Thunderbirds hosted by the Water Wonderlands Thunderbird Club. A great event and the car was well received. The general consensus of condition on this car is that it is rated at a “very high 3”. The car came from the Ford Wixom assembly plant, is original in all regards, has 85k miles on it and drives like you would expect a 60’s eras car to drive, given the odometer reading. The car has been freshened with a new top, a respray in the original Tahoe Turquoise color (Thelma & Louise), new whitewall radials, battery, mufflers, window motors, and trunk floor repair. The goal was to bring it back to use as a fun driver car, not a show car. The convertible top operates with the push of a button, the exterior sheetmental & chrome are in very good condition. The white/turquoise interior is in remarkable condition considering it is 49 years old. All gauges work, the sequential tail lights work, wipers are fine, etc. The interior chrome has minor pitting which you can feel but not see. Remaining projects are relatively minor – repair of clock, one exhaust manifold gasket, new radio antenna & heater core replacement (if winter driving is desired). This car is ready for someone who wants to own & drive a 60’s classic without incurring the expense of restoration. For use as a fun “daily driver” over the summer months, the work has been completed for you, it’s ready to go.
