It has the Turbo diesel engine from a 1995 Vw Passat. Very fast! you won't see anyone around with anything this rare and not to mention the fresh paint job. Here are some words from the previous owner: This vehicle has had every piece of it either replaced or at least cleaned and painted.  From the front bumper which has been shortened by 2.5 inches so it frames the grill better to the rear where a trailer hitch was added to pull a utility or tent trailer.  The paint and bodywork were done three years ago and still looks very good but it has a few dings. This truck has a custom built "one of a kind fiberglass tonneau cover..  It was custom made from a fiberglass shell.  I made it after I paid 350 dollars for   tailgate, that I realized could very easily be stolen.  So the cover does have a lock on it, and yes the tailgate is absolutely straight.                                                                         The engine is a 1.9 Turbo Diesel from a 1995 Passat.  It sits on new engine mounts and runs great,  I have added a oil cooling radiator out in front behind the grill.  The engine had a new head and rebuilt turbo put on when it was installed.  The exhaust is 2.25 inch and runs straight out over the axle to the rear bumper with no muffler of any kind.  It has a low rumble at low RPM but at 65-70 it purrs real nice.  The underside of the hood and the cab were all covered with Dynamat type material for sound deadening.  We also put disk brakes on the rear axle and  replaced all of the brake components including the master cylinder and vacuum booster.  The 5 speed overdrive transmission works smoothly and with the Short Shift mechanism, it is a ball to drive.          The interior features a dash that was made from figured mahogany and on the doors are storage to hold a coffee cup and other necessities.  VDO gauges (Volts, Vacuum Oil and Water Temp) are housed in a mahogany housing.  The interior has Recaro seats that are covered in gray sheepskin.  They are real comfortable and you        can drive all day seated in them.  The carpet and the headliner both need to be replaced.  VEHICLE OPTIONS Option List:Bumper Detail - Rear Step Bumper, Front Seat Type - Bucket, Front Wipers - Intermittent, Power Brakes, Tinted Glass, Upholstery - Cloth, Wheel Width - 13 Inch PHOTO GALLERY 1982 Vw Rabbit Caddy Turbo Diesel This has the Turbo Diesel engine From a 95 Passat TD.
