Up for auction is my personal 2000 Honda Insight Hybrid. If you are looking for a car that can achieve 70 mpg if driven right, this is the car to buy. I purchased this vehicle back in September 2010 with 146,000 miles to make a 7,000 mile road trip from NJ to CA and almost every state in between over the course of a month and a half. A week before the trip the car had the $4,500 IMA battery replaced by Honda in Clinton, NJ. The car made the trip without skipping a beat and has never needed any notable repairs during my ownership, just oil changes, tires and a wheel alignment within the last 50,000 miles. The car still drives like a new car and is one of the most unique vehicles I have ever had the opportunity to own. It will be sad for me to let it go, but I find myself driving it less and less simply due to owning several cars. The car's options are as follows:Power Windows and LocksPower SteeringABSAlarmAirbags5-speed manual trans (more fuel efficient and robust than the cvt)Ice Cold AC - if you are looking at other insights be careful, they don't all have ACSony CD Player with AUX InputSpeakers added behind the seats (the car comes with the holes stock but nothing installed)Color Matched Center Console from a Honda Civic (there is no center console stock and adding this made the car a lot more comfortable)Aftermarket Cruise Control - works well but I never use it3 additional cigarette adapters/cell phone charging ports in the glove box (from the big road trip) Condition/Issues:The cars current condition is used but very presentable with no known mechanical issues, people mistake this car for a new model very frequently. I would not hesitate to drive the car cross country tomorrow. The roof has lost its clear coat over the years from being in the sun. There is also a small blemish the size of a quarter in front of the rear drivers side wheel that I have included a picture of. I did hit a deer with this car once at very low speed and it was repaired by insurance, the airbags did not deploy and the only part that needed to be replaced was the dented hood.
