Vehicle Detail
This 1965 was being stripped for a paint job back in the 90s then pushed out in the weather so it has surface rust. The hood is junk as far as I am concerned. Someone tried to Bondo some scrapes on the driver's side. It was full of new and used parts when I bought it, many of which were still in boxes. The new dash pad had been nested in by mice, but it still looks o.k., not cracked, but stiff from the heat inside the car for years. I did not finish installing it. The front seats were recovered but looks like cat claw marks and need work. We were installing bucket seats with a head rest from a Saturn. Back seat same as far as recovered years ago but not used. The door panels looked good. I took them out of the box and installed them with new door arm rests, one arm rest had mouse pee damage. There is a head liner folded up in the rear seat but needs one of the sleeves for the bows repaired. There was a new carpet we put in that had been damaged by mice, but with no padding or sound proofing. I was gonna go back and make a couple of floor board patches. The floor boards are really good for a 65. There was, I believe two spots, I was going to patch but I was relieved that it did not need pans replaced. There are some new drums and cylinders for the brakes. I had to buy a spring kit due to missing springs/parts. Brakes system needs to be finished. It also comes with a new steering wheel, stainless steel with wood grips. I bought new door locks, trunk lock, glove box latch and an ignition with keys, so the car has keys and a good blue title. I bought a running straight 6 cylinder engine pulled from a 67' Mustang in East Texas. My son and I put it in after replacing the freeze plugs, but never finished it. Comes with an automatic transmission from the 67 and the original standard transmission that came with the car so the choice is yours. Lot's of loose parts to finish the car. The goal was to get it running and drivable first then finish body work as time progressed.
