It has been well cared for, has low miles, drives like a DREAM and looks absolutely stunning in the CLASSIC BMW Alpine White over Cream Beige Leather! Let's dive right in! Background:Let me begin with a little background. This gorgeous 645 took first ownership in sunny Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles and since then has spent its entire life in sunny, dry Southern California. Until 2012 this stunning drop top spent its hands with its first owner, when its second owner, a Beverly Hills resident, took delivery of his pre-loved car. This has been a wonderful weekend car for its owners and was driven on average only 5,000 miles per year! Let's also discuss how the 645 was ordered: BEAUTIFUL Alpine White over Cream Beige looks absolutely breathtaking! Alpine White is truly a LEGENDARY BMW color. BMWBlog voted Alpine White the #1 color BMW has ever made for its entire M3 lineup, which only bolsters how good it looks draped over any other BMW! And over the Cream Beige, it truly is classic color combination. Chris Bangle, the designer of the 645ci, had a visionary eye for the future of BMW with a massive step forward in design of the entire BMW model line. Described as flame surfaced, the 645ci, along with many other BMW of the same time frame, featured sharp lines, multitudes of angles and complex curves. Chris Bangle considered his early BMW cars as revolutionary cars designers to push BMW to the future in order to then have an evolutionary generation of cars. His forward thought allowed BMW to thrive despite critical feedback from journalists. The 645ci will certainly be a car considered a classic and meaningful design for well into the future. And in Alpine White over Cream Beige, it is quite a modern classic already! None of this is evidenced as much as through the current owner, who works in management for Mercedes Benz! (Must be awkward water cooler chat!). Let's continue! The Condition and Service: Let's start on the engine and drivetrain:-ENGINEThis engine has LOW miles (5,000 a year), with only 55,800 miles appearing on the odometer though the car shows as one with half of that. The engine is very healthy and has loads of smooth, torquey power! Even with a small crack of the throttle, the 645 pulls away effortlessly. Really, a wonderful touring car experience. No check engine lights, no service due (see the pics below for the onboard service checks!), no knocks, ticks, bangs or issues! Just smooth BMW power! -TRANSMISSIONThe transmission shifts smoothly, no delays, no odd gear shifts, holding gears or errors! -SUSPENSIONNo bangs, no rough ride, no clunks! The shocks dampen wonderfully! The car is very tight in corners, and comfortable on the straights! -BRAKESConfident pedal, great pressure with a firm positive stop. Pads have 75% life in both front and rear, rotors were replaced in the front a couple years ago and have about 50% wear life left. Rear rotors were replaced a couple years prior to the rears and have 75%+ life left. -STEERINGSteering is tight, aligned nicely, doesn't pull and weights up nicely at speed. No dead spots or play. The ratio is very tight on the 645ci and turns in quickly and sharply! Like a sports car despite being a larger GT car. Turns in like a BMW Z4M! Let's continue to the exterior: -PAINT and BODY The paint is really quite nice! It is a 8 out of 10 easily. Shiny, beautiful Alpine White paint was recently polished, finished and waxed by a highly acclaimed detailer here in LA. It looks FANTASTIC. CLEAN and CLEAR CarFax. NO ACCIDENTS. NO RUST. There are a few minor scrapes on the bottom of the front bumper from some low driveways/speed bumps, a small couple chips on the front bumper area and a few minor scratches/flaws elsewhere. Nothing deep and most could likely be polished out. Especially on the white they are particularly hard to see and certainly do not take away from the overall beauty of the car. Most require someone literally pointing and saying "look right here". Still above average for a 10 year car! Could go to head with newer cars easily! -TIRES The Bridgestone Potenza RE 050A have loads of tread life left on the tires! 65%+ even on a bad day! They are Run Flat tires as well! But not noisy or rough like so many run flats! No need to worry about changing a spare if you get a flat! -WHEELS The OEM BMW Style 121 wheels look stunning in chrome and really highlight the shine of the paint and bring a wonderful bright finish to the car! They were just recently polished and look GREAT. There is some very minor curb marks/flaws but because of the overall shine and shape, not very noticeable. -GLASS Not to let a pebble defeat this car, the windshield is great shape, with no chips or sandblasting. It is beautifully clear glass that makes a world of difference. It makes the car feel brand new! The door and rear glass is wonderful shape! Clear and clean! All windows are tinted to keep that bright sun outside when a top down approach is not in the cards. There is a small 1 inch or so section of tint on the drivers side door which has chipped. It is behind the drivers sight line though and closer to the rear window, so it is not very noticeable. -LIGHTSXenon headlights light up bright and all exterior lights work perfect! Onto the cabin: -SEATS The Cream Beige leather seats are fantastic!!! They are incredibly supportive with what feels like zero foam wear. The leather and foam is SO soft and comfortable. I truly love driving this car. You sit surrounded in these buttery soft seats and overall BMW luxury! The leather has been very well cared for and shows only VERY minor flaws at worst. All power seat functions work perfectly! The leather has been recently cleaned and conditioned as well! With warm seat heaters too, they are perfect place to spend time with the top down on a cool night! -CONVERTIBLE TOP The black convertible top is in near perfect shape! No frays, splits or holes! The fully power top works flawlessly and quickly. Front header unlatches, front half folds back, sail panels lift up, top boot opens, top folds away, top boot closes. Job done! -CARPET Beautiful carpet in the car! It has been shampooed and cleaned as part of the overall detail. It is in wonderful shape and is covered in equally wonderful shape black floor mats - check out the pics! Carpet in the trunk is in very nice shape. -DOOR PANELSDoor panels are in wonderful shape! Only some very light finger tip wear near the window switches, which is very typical of the rubberized plastic coating. -POWER SEATS All power seat functions work perfect! -POWER WINDOWS Both windows work! -POWER LOCKS Both locks work great. Car comes with one key with keyless entry incorporated on the key. Keypad could likely use a battery as you must be close to the car for it to unlock, but this will likely be replaced before auction end! -iDrive/RADIO/CLIMATE CONTROL The iDrive system works fantastic with no glitches or errors. The scroll wheel works perfectly and shows virtually no wear. Climate selections work perfectly, the radio works perfectly and sounds GREAT. -AC/HEAT AC is arctic cold and heat is earth core hot! -STEERING WHEEL The leather very soft and feels great! All steering wheel functions and buttons work as they should. There is some very light wear on the leather and very light wear on the rubberized plastic covering on the spokes - again nothing much to take away from the overall beauty of the interior! -CARGO AREA The cargo area is fantastic shape. Check out the pics! Clean battery - no corrosion. Original full BMW OEM manuals in their leatherette folder! -PARKING SENSORSAll front and rear parking sensors work great! The Experience Driving this 645ci is exactly what is was meant to be: a comfortable, relaxing, powerful open air experience. This was a $80k+ car when new and still feels the part many times over! It's actually quite hard to understand why you would spend multiples more on anew 6-Series when you get the same wonderful experience for a fraction of the price! It pulls like a train if you let your right foot have some fun, or cruises like a comfortable cruiser if you aren't in a rush. This is a squeak and rattle free car! No crashing and banging over bumps! Wonderful for around town, ideal for enjoying on the weekends and perfect for a road trip, this 645ci is truly a treat to drive. And with summer coming, there is better car! Especially with the speedy top which easily tucks away at a redlight with a push of a button! Feel free to ask me any questions at all. With two college age daughters, the duty of family calls more than an extra weekend car and time has become even more valuable. He does a have small balance with Bank of America left on the car, so please expect a short delay between payment and receipt of title from the bank. I have found with BofA they are quite quick. My standard disclaimer/mantra for any car regardless of service or price: The car is sold with no warranty. You are buying a used car. Eventually every car will break, if you find one that doesn't please let me know. I do my ABSOLUTE BEST to offer only cars that are of TOP NOTCH service. This is solid miles for a BMW of this year, but please just remember that no 55,000 mile car is perfect. It is though a clean, nice 645ci! Please only bid if you intend to buy.
