Vehicle Detail
1970 scout 800a sr2. Mid rebuild. Body condition fair. Mechanical condition fair. Floors replaced, spray lined interior. Body mounts replaced. Has a new wiring harness to be installed. All glass in good condition. No rubber seals. Brakes have been redone and are very firm. Parking brake still needs work. Body is under primer in most places. Some more detailed body work needs to be done. Body was very rough, as most scouts are. Driver side door jam and hinge area was replaced. The door hinges are new. The rear body mounts were repositioned with the new rear floor for better support away from the wheel wells which are very bad. Body guys could easily repair any issues, Im not equipped for the amount of body work( welding, cutting, fitting etc). My main goal was to get it safe to drive and fairly easy on the eyes, but not show quality. The engine was rebuilt prior to my purchase and I did hear it run. Though its currently not in running shape. New gas tank has been installed along with new wires, plugs, cap, coolant hoses. I have new gauges for the dash as well but not wired up yet. It also has the the removable top which could use a good sanding and repaint, but no major rust damage. I also have a front axle from a scout 2 with discs that i wanted to swap in. Never got that far. I have a set of Silverado seats that i decided to fit in. The rear seat was reupholstered by local shop and has been keep in house since. Great shape. I have nearly all parts of the scout, though some screws and bolts could be missing. I attempted to start changing out to new stuff during my work but obviously never got that far. I have new parts too, front oil seals, ujoints, wheel studs too. The heater box was blasted and painted. The radiator and heater core were both pressure tested and ran, no leaks. Had that professionally done. Tires are sketchy, do not recommend road tow, only roll back or large trailers. Located in Rutherfordton, NC, less than 3 miles from highway 74 for easy access with a rollback. Can make arrangements to get closer to highway for larger vehicles that cant get in driveway. I have been as honest as possible with the condition. It is not a show quality rebuild candidate unless you have alot of time and great body skills. But it would be a good project for most folks. I do have the bumpers as well, but chrome is really bad. Thanks for looking.
