Vehicle Detail
This truck was owned by my dad before me. He had it most of its life and drove it until about 5 years ago when my mom could no longer climb up into it without trouble (they are 76 years old now). They bought a smaller Chevy Colorado which is when I bought it from him. It had about 190,000 miles on it then. It has been my daily driver every day since then. I drive a short distance to work and part of my drive is on a 4 lane road. It runs exactly 2000 RPM AT 70 mph-smooth as silk (I will continue to drive it until it sells so mileage will go up slightly). The "anti lock" brakes and "check engine" dash light come on intermittently (as they do in most all of these trucks after a few years age), but I have had them both checked out by a mechanic and there are no real issues per him-it's just faulty warning lights. Dad always took care of his vehicles very well and taught me to do the same and I have. We both kept this truck in a garage and I guess that is one reason the original paint still looks as good as it does. It does have the normal small road dings, scratches etc, but nothing major as you can see from the pictures-it really does get a lot of attention and compliments. He used it for small jobs like deck building and to take the trash off. I get a load of pine needles for the yard every year with it and take the kayaks to the lake etc. That's about the extent of its "truck" use that I know of. It does have a bed liner and it has been in it for many years. My guess the bed is pristine underneath. No rust anywhere. We both kept the oil changed and required preventative maintenance performed on it (oil change with quality oil and Lucas treatment every 3000 miles since I have had it). I run premium gas in it about every fourth or so fill up because I believe it helps keep the fuel system clean. The 5.7 350 engine still cranks, runs very strong and sounds great through its throaty dual exhaust-no funny noises, knocks or pings. It idles at 20+ PSI of oil pressure and runs down the road at 40+ PSI. It has never been off road (other than a dirt driveway occasionally) as long as we have had it. Four wheel drive does work properly though-I have used it a few times during some of our three inch deep South Carolina snow "storms". Automatic transmission shifts smooth and strong. I would not hesitate to drive it across country today. The interior is in very good shape and has never been smoked in. The robust blue leather seats show just enough wear to give it character and still sit and support better than many new vehicles. Center console raises if you need room for three. All accessories function as they should: Power windows, door locks, remote side mirror adjust, rear view mirror has compass, keyless entry, tilt wheel, cruise, A/C, AM / FM stereo (I upgraded it to an original style stereo head unit that has a jack added to listen to my I phone tunes on-works great), cassette, CD player. Overhead is in good shape. All glass is in perfect shape. The Yukon Denali aluminum wheels shown in most of the pictures are no longer on the truck. It has the 2008 Silverado wheels and tires shown in one of the last pictures. They look very good on it I think. Front end was aligned about 2 months ago and new front shocks were put on at the same time. Work that has been done since I have owned it: Radiator replaced due to leak, Pittman arm replaced due to wear, A/C compressor replaced due to leak, thermostat replaced, starter replaced, new front shocks. I have had a couple of folks ask why I am selling the truck. Pretty simple: though I do love it, I want a Wrangler style Jeep and this truck has to go to make that happen. E-mail or message me if you have any questions. $500 due within three days of auctions end. Cleared balance due before truck is taken. Transporting is the buyers responsibility, but I will help as much as I can. Thanks and good luck.
