Vehicle Detail

1947 WILLS OVERLAND PICKUP FIRST YEAR MADE – STILL POWERED BY GO-DEVIL ENGINE 1947....This was the first year for the Willys Overland pickup. With 16 wheels, blunt front end, round headlights and four flat fenders, boxy all steel cab ---- instantly identifies the Willys Overland as a first cousin to the Jeep CJ. This one is still powered by the rugged, dead reliable four cylinder Go-Devil engine and Warner T-90 three speed transmission. This is a mechanically sound vehicle. It starts quickly, shifts well and goes through the gears effortlessly. The four wheel drive is long gone and you can cruise at highway speeds. It goes down the road straight. There is no shimmy, pull or vibration. It is completely sound. The clutch and brakes operate properly. The engine runs smoothly. There is no vibration, miss or misfire. It is quiet at an idle. VERY RECENT UPDATES INCLUDE: Rebuilt carb New master cylinder New electrical fuel pump New slotted 16-inch wheels THE EXTERIOR This is an impressive truck. It is a major draw. It has a wonderfully rugged look. With big and bold Willys Overland faces on the tailgate and both sides, the new slotted wheels and 238/85 Michelin tires draw people like a magnet. The side mounted spare tire puts the final touch in place. A crowd gathers every time; no matter where it is shown or driven. Just park this ride next to a million dollar Ferrari and see who gets the attention. When you visit the photo gallery, please consider that this is a 65-year-old truck that is not restored. It is road worthy. It is bright and shiny. It looks good.....REAL good. Along with its imperfections, it's fun to look at and even more fun to drive. I realize this is my opinion but I see no reason to do anything to this truck. Enjoy it just the way it is! THE INTERIOR The interior is neat and tidy. The dash is very attractive and always sparks interest. The lights all work including the headlights, tail lights, parking lights and turn signals. A nice modern touch is the great sounding Pioneer stereo. The windshield is clear, the glass in not cracked. And here's something that seldom happens – the speedometer and odometer work. The odometer reads 55,000 miles. The original heater and blower are still there and working. The windows go up and down and fit nicely. The value of these sure-footed trucks is on track. (NADA) Average value trend: 1992 $2800 1997 $3500 2002 $5000 2007 $7000 2012 $9000 2014 $12,000 to nearly $20,000 on the high end Since the demise of 'trailer queens' a few years ago, vehicles like this one have gained in popularity and value by as much as ten-fold. Several words are now used, such as Rat Rod, rusty but trusty, patina... and many more. Where's the fun when a scratch or a dent could cost thousands? It makes no sense, especially when this Willys is more fun and draws more attention – hands down every time! Sensible, serious offers will be considered. However, this vehicle will meet, and hopefully go beyond its reserve price. REMEMBER TO PLACE YOUR BID. This is a 7 day auction which will end TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2015 at 9 P M EDT! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here are 56 close up pictures showing every part of this ORIGINAL 1947 WILLYS If you have any questions about this or any of my other auctions or if you would like to inspect this vehicle, contact us via e-mail or phone me at 810-691-7415.
