Vehicle Detail
When do you see 'em like this - a true survivor. This 1961 Volkswagen Panel Bus is in it's original red paint with it's amazing original advertising logos...what's not to love about lightening bolts! Not only is there a big one on either side of the bus but they're around the headlights - which must have been super cool when the lights were on.The advertising is all around. On the back is the rhyming phrase - Remember For FrigidaireSee Joe Adair There's no engine. The rust is as seen in the photos - not on the body but the floor has several holes, both in the front and back of the bus. I've pointed out in the pictures dents and dings including two small rips on the driver's door. We have but didn't picture both the bench seat and the piece that separates the front from the back. The seat has rust in the upper corner of the frame that will need repaired. I think the pictures do a good job of showing the bus's condition but we're happy to answer questions. We purchased this bus from the same estate as the other one that we currently have listed on Ebay, item number 251968409182. As we told you in that listing, this belonged to the man who owned the VW dealership in Wichita Falls, Texas. This was taken in on a trade in and kept by him until we bought it from his estate. We bought it with a bill of sale and are selling it the same way. If you'd like to talk to us you can call David at 817-233-5960 between 8am & 7pm central time. We require a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of the auction ending and full payment within 7 days. (PayPal can be used for the deposit but not for the remainder, thank you.)We're 30 miles northwest of Fort Worth for shipping purposes. We want to be sure you understand that we don't know anything about Volkswagens. We've had some help dating these two buses and we appreciate any information we might gleam during the auctions. For that reason we've got to tell you to do your own research and again, ask us any questions. We think this bus rocks and we're crazy about the story behind it. Tom Danaher has caught our interest and we're totally intrigued by his life. Here's a link with a little of his fascinating life.http://airportjournals.com/tom-danaher-not-an-average-pilot/On May-27-15 at 08:05:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added more photos and uploaded some to this linkhttps://www.flickr.com/photos/133559141@N05/shares/4aT87Z The roof, gutters and belly are in great condition. Included are pictures of the seat and divider as well. Please continue to ask questions! We have been told that although this was made in August of 1961 that it's really a 62....it's a bit confusing but we're trying!
