Vehicle Detail

Details:2006 bmw 550i with approximately 115,000 milesjet black paintsports package - active steering and active roll bar systemcold weather package - heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheelnavigationharmon-kardon stereomanual and 2 key fobs, and emergency key Upgrades:new oem "mtech style" bumpers and sideskirts which come on the newer 2008-2010 5 series. "LCI style" oem headlights and tail lights and light control module which come on the newer 2008-2010 5 series. wired with a bmw kit and coded properly.sport steering wheel and airbag like used on the newer 2008-2010 5 seriesMiro 111 rims with 275/30/19 rear and 245/35/19 front tires. these are the same size tires as if the car were to have factory 19" rims. 35% tint on all glass except windshield i have owned the car for 6 years. never any accidents during my ownership, and from what i can tell, since new. i am selling because i just got an X5.the car is in really great shape considering its age and mileage. always been garaged. drives straight down the road.paint shines good with no dents or big scratches. just normal wear and tear i'd say. the worst you'll see is maybe a slight wrinkle or wavey look on one of the doors, but you can only see it if the sun is shining at the right angle. has typical rock chips in front. underside of front bumper has some scrapes, but not noticeable unless you're on your knees.the exterior lights and rubbers are in good shape and not sun faded.the interior is in great shape. no premature wear marks on the seats or steering wheel, or anything out of the ordinary.the tires have i'd say at least 50% tread. the rims are in great shape, except for maybe a little chip or mark here and there. i did all the maintenance and repairs on the car myself. changed oil every 6000-7000 miles with mobil 1 0w-40 car has new wheel bearings front and rear. newer struts on front. new battery. water pump, sparkplugs, and belt tensioner somewhat recently. transmission fluid/filter has been changed twice and not neglected for life like bmw recommends. **EDITED BELOW, due to some asking if the engine is bad. NO it's not bad, i was trying to explain that the common issues with these motors has been taken care of. read again below, as i edited the details. if you're looking at any used bmw with a v8 (N62 series motor), that includes 545, 550, 745, 750, 650, x5 v8 etc) then be aware that they will all eventually start smoking due to worn and hardened valve stem seals due to a poor design on bmw's part. when the seals wear, oil seeps by the valves and enters the combustion chamber and creates smoke. this issue does not mean the rest of the engine is bad. these engines will go for a long time. its just that bmw sometimes doesnt use the best rubber seals. maybe they do it on purpose or who knows... the original seals(rubber) would get hard and worn with age. the updated seals are made of a better rubber. the seals themselves don't cost much. less than $100. the hard part is replacing them, as they are not easy to get to. bmw dealers charge $7000+ to do the repair, and thats almost all labor. All German Auto (AGA) sells a special tool kit that allows you to change seals without having to disassemble camshafts and front timing cover, which the dealer would do. i used the AGA kit to replace these seals on my car, even though this car never smoked. i also replaced the valve cover gaskets and the center valley coolant pipe, that is prone to leaking also. again, i did all this as preventative maintenance. the car runs great, and all common issues that could occur have been addressed ahead of time and not ignored. if you're looking at other used bmws with v8 and don't see these repairs being done, expect to do them yourself eventually. overall this is a great car that will be passed on for someone else to enjoy.feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
