Vehicle Detail
February 1986 I purchased this car with 62k miles. It was red. It was always garage kept and only driven for enjoyment. In 1993 an employee of my business ran into the driver side door and fender. I had them replaced and did a full color change. Mediterranean blue (an original Porsche color from the mid 80’s) In 1997 I had the engine rebuilt and changed to chain drive. Also the clutch was replaced. I also had the 2 front seats redone. Around 2001 I put the car in storage. In 2010 I started driving it again and on my return from a weekend in OC Maryland the car would not shift into 2nd and 4th gear. And the rear shock bushing fell out. I had no desire to fix it so I put it back in storage. In 2011 I transferred the title to my son. We both decided to sell it now. I just put a new battery in it and used starting fluid and got it running again. It needs a tune up and transmission work. I drove it the other day. Reverse, 1st ,3rd and 5th gear work fine. The vin # is 911521128. I have many more pictures and a few videos of the engine running and driving in my development. It is not registered. Mileage is 95438 On May-20-15 at 10:18:12 PDT, seller added the following information: The car is hard to start and needs a tune up. I am not mechanically good so I can't change the spark plugs. They are very hard to get out and I think you need a special tool, because if you drop one it looks like you would have to drop the engine to find the spark plug. I had the car running the other day without using starting fluid. It was very warm at my house. 90 Fahrenheit 32 Celsius. I have been told that the linkage could be loose or maybe putting the transmission in 2nd gear without the engine running and bump the starter, that may align the gears. Or you have to drop the engine and transmission to find out what is wrong. I would suggest shipping the car by roll on and off only. 2 reasons. If the car sits for a while and is cold it may need starting fluid to start it and driving it by someone that is not as careful as myself they could more damage to the transmission. as I said before the car shifts fine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and goes in reverse. I have videos and more pictures to show you if you want
