Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for auction is a 2000 Ford Explorer, with no reserve. The mileage is only 40,202. It is a four wheel drive, four door SUV. The vehicle runs and shifts great. I drove the vehicle around the parking lot, and the engine / transmission is strong, with no leaks. It is a good vehicle to get you from point A to point B. The vehicle is located in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the vehicle is being auctioned as is, and where is, with the buyer being responsible for moving / transporting it. The auction also includes seven portable generators, which are loaded into the back of the Explorer. The vehicle and generators need to go as a package deal, since everything is all loaded and ready to go. Before bidding, please make sure you carefully read the details below. I recently purchased this vehicle and some generators from the US Government. The vehicle is currently located on St John, Virgin Island, where it was used by the U.S. National Park Service. The vehicle is sitting at the maintenance department parking lot of the U.S National Park Service, and located on Route 20 (North Shore Road, at the Mongoose Junction part of Cruz Bay). This is within walking distance of the U.S. National Park Service Visitors Center in Cruz Bay. The vehicle will come with; keys, Bill of sale, Assignment of Ownership, and Standard Form 97. Since this was a U.S. Government vehicle, it does not come with a title. The Standard Form 97 is issued by the U.S. Government, and is the official certificate to obtain a title upon registration. When I was in the U.S. Virgin Islands, I had the Form 97 notarized by a notary public at Scotia Bank located at Red Hook, St. Thomas. Since this was used by the U.S Government, no “road tax” was ever paid on the vehicle. The U.S Government is exempt from this type of tax. To register the vehicle in the U.S Virgin Islands, this tax will have to be paid, and a safety inspection would be required. The road tax is 0.16 per pound. The approx. weight of the vehicle is 4,146 pounds. See the U.S. Virgin Islands Bureau of Motor Vehicles for details on registration requirements (www.usvibmv.org). I had visited the U.S Virgin Islands from 5/8 – 5/14 to check out the vehicle and the generators. I am back in the U.S. now, so I can’t arrange for you to test drive the vehicle. However, I have sold many items, including several vehicles on eBay, and my 100% rating speaks for itself. You can trust me that you can drive the vehicle, and it runs, shifts and stops fine. However, keep in mind that it is 14 years old, and is in need of some minor items. While I was able to drive the vehicle around the parking lot, I was unable to do a complete in-depth inspection. In the description below, I am providing information that came to my attention, and the vehicle may need other repairs that I am not aware of. I want to make sure I am providing you with what I know of the vehicle as to; repairs needed, condition, etc. I also purchased from the Government, a 1998 Chevrolet K2500 4x4, along with an Onan 15KW diesel generator, loaded in the back of the truck, along with a diesel fuel tank. This is listed as a separate auction item on eBay. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at RonPfau@comcast.net, or you can call my cell phone at 860-212-3987 VIN: 1FMZU71E5YUB21492 Engine: 4.0 liter V-6. Engine is strong, with plenty of power. No leaks noted Exhaust: The system is complete, good condition, with no exhaust leaks noted. Transmission: Automatic. Shifts good, with no leaks noted. Suspension, brakes and tires: The front sway bar bushings will need to be replaced (both sides). The vehicle stops good, with no noises noted. I was not able to inspect the brakes pads or rotors. The tires are about 60% - 70% worn. Exterior / Body: The exterior needs a wash. The body has some small dings, and scratches. There is a small rust through spot at the lower passenger side front fender. The back hatch will need new struts to hold it open. The exterior door handle is missing from the front passenger side door. Interior: The seat surfaces are all good, with no rips in the vinyl. The carpeting has some stains, and discolorations. The interior plastic panels are faded from the sun, and have sun damage. The interior door panel on the driver’s side rear door, needs the pull handle reattached. The interior door pull on the driver’s side front door is missing. The rear bumper, on the driver’s side, is pushed in a little bit. Electrical Systems: A brand new battery was installed. It has an AM/FM radio that works; and Anti-Lock brakes. From what I recall, I think it will need a signal light bulb, but can’t remember which light it was. The headlights and parking lights work. I did not check to see if the horn works. The air conditioning system is not blowing cold air, but I do hear the A/C compressor engaging. My guess is that it is low on refrigerant. The blower motor is working fine. It needs a rear wiper blade. I did not turn on the rear wiper motor, so not sure if it works. Also, I did not try the front windshield wipers, so again, not sure if it works. Generators: There are seven portable generators loaded in the back of the Explorer. I do not know if the generators run, or put out electricity, since I was unable to put in any gas. The engines do turn over, and could be tinkered with, or used for parts. As stated, the generators go with the Explorer, since this is a package deal. The generators will come with a bill of sale. The generators are as follows: Model: Homelite LR 4400, 4000 watt, ------------------ Model: Homelite LR 5500, 5000 watt, ------------------ Model: Onan Pro 6000E, 6000 watt, (has electric start) ------------------ Model: Onan K1400, 1400 watt, Quantity = 4 Payment arrangements: I will accept payment for the deposit by Paypal. For the balance, I will accept a personal check, bank check, or money order. After payment is cleared, I will send you the keys and all the paperwork described above, for the vehicle and the generators. If you need to pay in cash, then I can make arrangements through a local attorney in the U.S Virgin Islands for you to make the payment in cash, and then the attorney can release the keys and the paperwork to you. At stated the buyer will be responsible for moving the vehicle. I will have to provide the buyer’s name to the U.S. National Park Service so they can release the vehicle and generators.
