ThePawnShark Store Selling with No Reserve!! Hello, I'm selling "The Banana Boat". She is a 1967 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible (One of a total of 838 built that year). I bought her 6 months ago as a winter project. I love the car but I have too many projects right now so one of them needs to go. She is a former show car and has about a dozen badges in the glove box from car shows that she has been at. I am an honest individual and I am going to list every good thing and every bad thing that I know about the car. This way there will be no surprises when you pick it up. Look at my eBay feedback and you will see that I am a honest seller. It has a clean Missouri title. The odometer shows less than 80k miles which I believe to be correct but the mileage wasn't recorded on the currant title so it can't be recorded as actual miles on a new title. Here is recent listing that sold for $20,800http://www.ebay.com/itm/261866381129?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Search on YouTube for "1967 Dodge Polara 500" by Land Shark and you will find recent video of this car's exterior as well as a video of the car running. Previous owner had her ready for paint and then something happened. Maybe a death? She is in yellow primer and is almost ready for a new paint job (original color was red). I believe she has been in primer for about 4 years. Since that time she has received a couple minor dings that will need to be addressed before paint (dent in ridge of hood and other very minor dings). She is 95% RUST FREE!! She must have spent most of her life in a garage. The only rust I have found is a rusted out muffler and evidence of a front floor repair. This car being nearly rust free is one of the biggest reasons that I bought her as that is EXTREMELY RARE here in the Midwest. All the trim is in the trunk (Dodge Name x2, Polara Name x2, 500 badge x1 and working trunk lock). The other reason that I bought her was because she has a brand new interior. Thousands of dollars have been spent on this new interior that includes all new seat upholstery, carpet and door panels. She could benefit from a new dash due to cracks but she has a nice dash cover that hides most of that. The only other thing the interior really needs is some attention to all the dials and switches as they are showing some age (no longer show worthy). She is equipped with air conditioning and the blower blows but no further testing has been performed. She also has a AM radio that doesn't seem to work (maybe just a fuse?) I just installed a brand new windshield last week!! When I got her she hadn't ran in 10+ years. I started by pulling the gas tank and cleaning it out. All the rubber fuel lines have been replaced. I put two new fuel filters on and I replaced the fuel pump. She fired right up at that point. The headers started to smoke and I found the valve covers leaking oil on both sides. I pulled the valve covers and found the gaskets in horrible shape. I replaced them with rubber gaskets and painted the valve covers in the exact same special Mopar blue color. She has been given an oil change, new spark plugs, new air cleaner, new distributor cap and rotor. After getting her running I found that she had no brakes. I initially thought it was a bad booster/master brake cylinder so I replaced them but it made no difference. I pulled the brake drums and started fixing problems. There was a lot of evidence of leaking brake cylinders so I have replace all four of them. I put new brake pads on the rear and replaced some of the brake lines. She now stops well but could probably benefit from the entire brake system being bleed (this is very difficult to do alone). She's also has a set of new tires. I did quite a bit of research before picking out these tires and the best size. They are Cooper Cobra Radial Gt Tires in size 235/70R15 from Discount Tire. They have more of a muscle car look and provide outstanding performance. I LOVE THEM !!! (I have since put another set of them on another car). The tires are on the factory wheels that I painted in Satin Black and added chrome lug nuts. There is a set of hub caps in the trunk that were on the car but I don't know if they are original. I also have 1 1/2 inch wheel spacers on all four wheels. This gets rid of most of the fender gap with a big improved on stance. Some people don't feel that wheel spacers are safe but I have had them on half a dozen cars and 4x4's without any problems. They could easily be removed. Since doing all the repairs I haven't drove her more than a coupe times around the block. I'm sorry, but I am too paranoid that I am going to wreck her after putting so much work into her. Since full testing has not been performed, I recommend shipping the car or bringing a trailer. The great thing is if you ship the car I am sitting in the middle of the country so your not looking at a high cost to ship wherever you are. Known issues - Needs Paint and a couple small body dings fixed.- Needs a New Convertible Top (Present one has a small hole right above the drivers seat and other cosmetic issues). - Driver side mirror glass is broken.- Rear drivers side taillight has a crack right down the middle which might be reparable. - Missing a rear back-up light bucket and the lens that mounts in the bumper. I require a non-refundable $500 deposit via Paypal with-in 48 hours of auction end. I will need the balance owed paid with a bank cashiers check with-in 2 weeks of close of auction. I will store the car for 2 weeks from the end of the auction at no cost so you can arrange pick-up. After 2 weeks there will be a charge of $10 per week for storage fee's. I work from home so I have a very flexible schedule and will be available for pick-up almost any time or day of the week (I will be out of town May 28th- May 31st so keep that in mind). E-mail me if you have questions. Thanks!! p.s. Take a look at the last picture to see another 1967 Polara in the original paint color that this car came with (I think she really needs to go back to her original red color). On May-16-15 at 14:28:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a quick update. I drove her around my block for half an hour. She ran great and sounded good (she will sound a lot better once the rusted out muffler gets replaced). She shifted through all the gears with no problem and didn't over heat. She has almost no brakes and definitely needs someone to bleed the system/adjust the pads (The brake system is 90% new). I'm done working on her but I'm happy to assist in anyway that I can. I sure am going to miss her when she goes...
