This car belongs to my Father. He bought it used in 2006 and it has been his daily driver. The engine runs well, and does not burn oil, or have any issues. He always took it for an oil change at 3,000 miles. The transmission is also excellent, no leaks or slipping. The brakes are 1 or 2 years old, and are excellent. All the tires still have good tread on them. The body has a rust area towards the bottom of the drivers door. The back passenger side corner was repaired and primed about 3 years ago after it was dented. The primer was never painted to match the car. This area now has very slight rust along the bottom edge of the primer, but it is not easily noticed. The interior has wear on the edge of the drivers seat (as you can see in the pictures). The power locks and windows work well, as do the defrosters, cruise control, and gauges. The radio works, but no longer lights up (so you cannot see what channel it is tuned to). The check engine light came on last year. We had it looked at, and it showed the code is for “GAS CAP”. The case cap is good, so I believe it is a sensor for the case cap. Either way, it does not affect the use of the Jeep. The air conditioner blows, but it does not blow cold. The heater works great. The hood pistons are weak, so the hood does not stay up. The last issue is that the back-up lights do not function. Just noticed it, and do not know the cause. This is every problem we are aware of. For a car with 126,921 I feel this is normal to find. The front shocks & struts were replaced about a year ago. Otherwise, the car is dirty, and would benefit from a good cleaning inside and out. It has been and still is very reliable.
