Vehicle Detail

Thank you for showing interest in my 1995 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo SMZ (Stillen Motor Sports) numbered model 41. This was my go to car when I purchased a fun weekend driver. I know you will care for and enjoy this vehicle as much as I have over the past couple years that I have had it. This vehicle has low mileage and had a recent engine rebuild by the previous owner before I built it. I have all of those documents in a file he sent to me with the car. I need to get rid of it because of a new home purchase and the birth of my daughter last December. I travel for work and the car spends most of its time in the garage. The birth of our daughter caused my wife require approximately $11,000 in dental work as well. Honestly, I'm getting rid of all the toys, this car and the 2008 Harley Davidson FXCWC Rocker C. Condition: The condition is really great for a 20 year old car. It was one of the best looking 300ZX I could find and I have put a lot of work and TLC into the vehicle after I bought it and it is now in way better condition than when I originally bought it. Mechanically the car starts and runs great. The car is very clean on the inside and outside. Any items that may need to be addressed are purely minor cosmetic items. Interior: The interior is great with no apparent cracking or fading in the dash or seats. The door panels show no signs of cracking or fading. The dash is poking up around the defrost vent but that is a known issue with these vehicles. There is a company called Powertrix who makes a replacement part that fixes this problem. It is hardly noticeable unless you are really looking for it. The interior trim around the stereo is missing a screw and a screw cover and one side of a screw cover is missing a clip to hold it in. The trim bezel that goes around the ignition switch is missing. It was in the car but must have fell out during transportation during my move from Oklahoma to Lousiana. It is probably still in the vehicle somewhere (picture included). The back of the plastic storage pocket under the radio has a big odd shaped hole knocked out of it from a previous electronic boost controller installation, the previous boost controller sat in the pocket blocking the hole (can be seen in the pictures). The rear trim in the trunk area is in good condition and the original luggage cover is still in the trunk area. When I was working on the car and disassembled the trim I noticed some of the mounting clips or screw clips were broke. It did not warrant me spending $700 on new on new plastic trim since the pieces assemble and hold fine. The driver side T-top release handle plastic bucket trim has a crack and had been repaired by a previous owner. The knee panel under the steering wheel has a little spot to the right where some had been screwed to it previously (picture included).Exterior: The exterior is very straight showing no signs of accidents of dents however it does have a couple areas of paint damage. The bottom of the passenger door has couple of paint scrapesThe door seal areas have areas of wear from people getting in and out of the vehicle. The bottom passenger side of the bumper has stress cracking from flexing during my move from Oklahoma to Louisiana The paint is glossy and has minor clear coat scratches in some areas but most of it can be buffed outThe pinch welds on the under-body had been bent up from improper jacking of the vehicle by previous owners. The plastic shroud at the bottom of the front window is missing a plastic fastener. Features: The previous owners had done a number on the vehicle over the years but lucky for you I intercepted this vehicle and took the bad parts off, replaced missing and damaged OEM parts and spent well over $10,000 and my hard sweat and labor to fix this up into something worth drooling over. Being as old as they have became it is hard to find nice ones that are still in good condition that are tastefully modified or unmolested or abused. This is a limited edition numbered SMZ model. The SMZ model was a new vehicle from the factory modified by Stillen Motorsports. These models were sold through Nissan dealers throughout the USA and carried a price tag $14,000 over the factory model. The updated models differed from the stock 300ZX turbo models in that they had:Stillen rear spoilerYokohama AVS wheels (I have the original set but they are in need of some repair/restoration) Louvered Stillen nose panel Aggressive Stillen rear spoilerModified Stillen rocker panelUpdated Stillen rear valance plasticCarbon fiber interior door handle accentsCarbon fiber interior center console accentEmbroidered center console lidCarbon fiber shift knobStillen exhaust systemAn added 2psi of boost gave an additional 65 horsepower for a total of 365hp @ 6400 RPMCenter console and under hood plaquesGlove box labelUpgraded Nissan Skyline brakes There is a lot of information on the 300ZX SMZ models on the internet if you do a internet search you can pull up lots of good information. My History With Her: This was an eBay find for me as well. I have really put a lot of my own time and money into updating the vehicle and restoring it. It may not be perfect or 100% complete. It is very clean for a 20 year old car and runs great. The vehicle is mechanically sound and reliable. Overall the vehicle is very clean, fun and reliable. The previous owner had a old Nissan technician do a rebuild for him of the motor. They used forged pistons in the rebuild. I have the paperwork available that he had sent with the vehicle. I'm sure they did some valve/head port work of some sort. They also used JWT R5 cams in the motor. The previous owner had also replaced the clutch with a Speciality Z High 5 five puck clutch. He also mentioned something about the car having a aluminum flywheel also but I have not been able to verify this. The car had came shipped to me with upgraded adjustable tie-rods and adjustable upper camber arms. After my first few drives I started pulling the vehicle apart and restoring and replacing parts to make it perform better and more reliable as well as restore it to a factory like condition. The previous owner said he had the rear fenders rolled at the local body shop. The original tire and wheel combination the car shipped with had trouble clearing the finder over bumps without occasional rubbing. I had bought TSW Jarma wheels in an offset configuration to closely match the factory Twin Turbo design/setup. I added a nice set of Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position tires to those wheels as well. The car came with the original Yokahama AVS wheels but they are chipped and they need restoration. I updated and installed new audio equipment in the car. All new high quality JBL components, with Nissan OEM non-Bose brackets, in the front and 2 way 4x6 rear speakers and 10" subwoofer in a custom fit factory style box all powered by a Rockford Fosgate 5 channel amplifier and fed by a Pioneer stereo that has high quality audio processors and an auto equalizer/tuning feature. I installed a new turbo timer and electronic boost controller and replaced missing or broken parts/hardware. The car was missing T-top storage bags that I bought for the car. I replaced the shift and emergency boots with leather red stitched ones. I also added a Stillen short throw shifter. The back of the hatch lid was missing the factory OEM stickers and I added the JDM Nissan Fairlady Z sticker along with the Twin Turbo sticker. On the front window I installed the Stillen SMZ sticker. I bought a new factory key fob and programmed it to the vehicle, the keyless entry and trunk unlock works as it should. I also replaced the factory US rear center pannel with a JDM center pannel to match the JDM rear lights on the vehicle. I also installed new AEM gauges for fuel pressure, air/fuel ratio and boost pressure. The car was not driving very well due to a blow off valve set up in the charge piping to the throttle bodies being installed and the factory bypass valves being eliminated from the set-up. I wanted better performance so I ordered breather modifications. The guys at Speciality Z said I needed "breather mods". Larger intercoolers, exhaust manifolds, single piece aluminum drive shaft, larger intake piping, larger intercooler piping, the newest Garrett ball bearing high performance turbos with machined billet aluminum wheels. These are suppose to produce a substantial amount of performance with race fuels. I ordered the bypass valves and everything I needed to make this car scream. I pulled the motor and cleaned it off and replaced these parts and plugged the EGR ports in the intake manifold. Had the exhaust manifolds ceramic coated, installed new low profile tubular BDE (Brett Dempsey Engineering) motor mounts. Bolted everything together and torqued it to the factory manual specifications. I cleaned the rusty acid area up around the battery area and removed the battery tray and repainted and reassembled that area. I also hand cleaned the underside of the vehicle and touched up the underbody rubberized coating. The original factory hood insulation was falling apart and I replaced it and the labels on it. I filled the transmission with Royal Purple oil, I called their tech support to ask what one of their products were recommend to use for the specific application. I also filled the rear differential with Royal Purple gear oil also. The motor has been filled with Mobile One synthetic 10W-30. I also recently replaced the fuel filter. The only things that may need to be addressed are simply cosmetic issues. Unless you are looking for more power than you need to upgrade the fuel system and throw on a aftermarket ECU. The engine and turbos should be good to make 700 horsepower. Currently it has Nismo 615 fuel injectors with a stock fuel pump. The Speciality Z ECU Map selector lets you program the chip inside the ECU for whatever fuel you are running and select between the programs based on the fuel you are running. The current programed ECU maps are 91, 93 and 110 octane. I do not know the power it currently makes because I have not had the time to take it out for a dyno test and tune. I told the guys at Speciality Z the modifications and they programmed a chip for 91, 93 and 110 octane per my request. The chip can be pulled out of the ECU and they can program it for other fuels also. They said the limitation on the factory fuel pump is about 600 horsepower. I had a new Stillen front bumper and nose panel installed. I used all new OEM replacement brackets and under engine and wheel well plastics for the installation. Unfortunately a few weeks later I cracked the paint on the bumper during transport because the low car was pulled up a little too far on the U-haul trailer and the front bumper was flexing on the trailer over some of the bumps for a few miles of the trip. A warning to anybody who lives in states requiring emissions testing and inspections. This vehicle is for off-road use only. This vehicle does not have any emissions equipment on it. The catalytic converters, carbon canister and EGR have all been removed from this vehicle. I'm sure I'm missing some information. There is so much on this car and it is a very nice car. I have most of my receipts and parts manuals and I have saved the previous auction information and pictures from when I purchased the car. I also have pictures of the work I have done throughout the time I have had it. I travel for work and am working night shift. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me and I will answer you as soon as I can. Shipping & Payment: Serious bidders only need to bid. Will only accept cash or certified and verifiable bank check before car is released. The purchaser is responsible for arranging shipping. I will not accept partial payments or a payment plan of any sort. I might consider a potential trade on a 5th wheel travel trailer though.
