Vehicle Detail
This is a 1962 Corvette. This is the elusive barn find everyone wants. What you see is exactly as it was found. It is an old 1970's hot rod. Previous owner now in his 70's purchased it from a family member in 1975. It is believed to be a two owner car. The miles at an incredible 16,000 he stated were original. He claims that although it was licensed for years he simply did not drive it. His intention was to leave it to his son only to find he had no real interest. An attempt at a restoration was started four years ago with unbolting the hood (the reason it looks crooked in the pics) and removing the carb. The fuel tank was sent off and repaired/coated. That seems the extent of it. The car was running and driving fine. He isn't sure of the year it was parked. As always life, family, work, even a divorce came first. He always managed to hang on to the car. With what must have been a million times over the years of people trying it was never for sale. After being retired for more then ten years and in the final stages in life it was time to let go. I am not a Vette guru. What I know is what I am told. The engine is a 327. Trans is a 4 speed. Motor turns by hand. There are extra parts not pictured although I have not taken a full inventory. I do not have a lift for underside pics. The car has the normal surface rust and wear and tear on its underside for any 1962 vehicle. It has been modified as far as the typical bolt on high performance items that would have done in the 1970's. He stated the family member had it balanced and blueprinted. It has the long obsolete Thrush side pipes. The body is straight no wrecks or damage. There is a scrape by the passenger headlight. He changed the original painted headlight rings to chrome units from an earlier Vette. The originals are included. Windshield has a crack but comes with another. I will be glad to discuss the car in person by appointment however I wish not to disclose the reserve or talk price. There is no buy it now. If you cannot wait untill the sale ends then consider making an offer. So out of respect do not ask what I want. I may consider a trade plus cash. A 1970 AMC Trans AM Javelin is a plus. I'll listen to other and all trade offers. No Harleys unless a 1971 FX Superglide or 1977 FXE Rebel Edition Superglide maybe an XLCR. That is it. Other bikes that might work would be a 1969/70 Honda CB750 Sandcast or a 1972 Kawasaki 750H2. Selling as is and as seen. Don't see it don't assume. Your winning bid is not a chance to come and look.If you require an inspection it will need to be done before sale ends. If you are too cool to bid don't plan on inquiring after the listing has ended if reserve is not met then other arrangements will be made with the vehicle. I will require a $2000.00 Non refundable deposit and must be sent directly after the sale. Ballance must be sent within 5 days. So don't make travel plans if the deposit has not been sent via overnight mail. No paypal. If you are serious these requests will not be a problem. The rules are only in place to avoid problems after the sale. I have sold vehicles before and have had great experience. There are always those who ruin it for everyone. You are buying the car as is and seen. It is non running and will need an entire or total restoration. I welcome buyers from outside the US and will work with your shipper. When inquiring about the car be advised I work evenings. I check my email when I get home which is usually 2:AM. Not every 15 min. on my phone. If you have a question please email first it is the best way for me. Thanks for looking.
