Very, very nice looking dune buggy, frame off restored, diamond bar 1/4" aluminum floor boards, all led lights, engine feature light led, VDO millenium gauges, yellow metal flake paint, brand new battery, this thing has about 150 miles on it since the restoration, new tires, brand new battery, weber solex carburator, lots of chrome on engine, electric fuel pump, quick detach steering wheel, chrome everywhere, stainless led tail lights in "corvette" type fashion.On Apr-14-15 at 16:20:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Pictures were taken about 2 weeks ago. The third picture shows an oil leak. My mechanic changed the oil and noticed the leak originated from the plate that houses the sieve type oil filter. There is no sieve filter installed and he said that they were not that efficient anyway. He has replaced the gasket and put lock washers and nuts on the plate and the leak is no longer there. I don't want to hide anything but this bug has been sitting for several years until i had it serviced recently. My mechanic was amazed that is started so easily. He drained the fuel tank, cleaned carb, changed oil, installed new battery and it now runs great. Like all vw engines, the valves rattle a little when it is first started and then it smooths out nicely.On Apr-18-15 at 17:07:17 PDT, seller added the following information: My mechanic was at my shop today and told me a few more things, he said this was the bigger of the volkswagen motor because exhaust headers split out into 2 pipes on the big motors as this one does, it does have independent rear suspension, has disc brakes on the back and drum on the front. This buggy is street legal in Kentucky and has a Kentucky title. You will need to check the laws and requirements in your state as to what is required there. I suggest checking online with a local dune buggy club. I have a couple requests for buy it now or to end auction early, which are tempting, but I will let it go and end where it ends.
