Hi, This auction is or a fully restored and sorted 1961 Triumph TR5AR. This is a very rare bike that was sent to the US only in 1961. We received this bike in boxes from a customer. It had a very hard life, Engine was totally stuck, and trans was full of water. We powder coated the frame and all the black parts. The Chronometric gauges were totally rebuilt and function properly. The engine was totally stripped, and rebuilt. The sludge tube was cleaned and replaced, New rod bearings, with re sized rods. Over sized pistons, and rebuilt cyl head, with valve stem seals, all new valves and guides. The complete transmission was replaced buy a later T100R cluster, and works great. The wiring harness was replaced, and uses a Sparx Voltage regulator, None of the wiring was cut to fit the sparx unit. The seat is special to this bike and was rebuilt by Leightons. Hubs were powder coated, Stainless steel spokes and rims were used. The paint was done buy a good friend and was matched to the colors under the badges and knee pads. We have been told by the club in the UK that there were only about 220 of these TR5ARs built. There was never a LH side cover, Just open. This bike was totally restored, and we have put 100 miles on it to make sure all is well, and broken in. Its a very nice bike to ride!! Starts first kick!
