Vehicle Detail
2002 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police InterceptorLooks Good - Runs GreatCheck out a video here: http://youtu.be/5Ol3ajJkddU Up for sale is my 2002 Crown Vic. This has been my winter / bad weather car for almost two years and has served me well. I originally bought this car for my sons to drive but after putting a lot of work into it, I decided to keep it for myself. Now they don't need it and I'm looking to make room for a project. This car is mechanically sound and looks pretty good for its age both inside and out. The interior is clean with no tears or excessive wear in the upholstery. There is a cutout in the headliner where the police DVR system was once located. On the rear are snow tires, I tried to get a good picture of the tread which is in good shape. The front tires have a fair amount of tread as well but are not snow tires. The original radio was replaced with a double din touchscreen Pyle. I will include the original AM/FM radio as well in case the buyer prefers it. This car runs and drives great. No problems and no leaks. It starts easily even on the early mornings when the temperature is -20. The transmission is a rebuilt unit that was in the vehicle when I bought it. The car has a lot of new mechanical parts and I have receipts for most of them including a newer engine. The oil has been changed regularly and the vehicle well maintained overall while I've owned it. The power windows and door locks all work. Rear door handles work (some P71s are missing rear door parts). Rear windows tinted. Full size spare. I replaced the headlights, corner lights and tail lights due to the originals being somewhat faded. In October 2013 the original 2002 engine with approximately 148,000 miles on it was replaced with an engine from a 2009 P71 with approximately 60,000 miles. This was done because the original engine had an exhaust leak at the manifolds and broken studs. While the engine was out of the car I found a great deal on the newer, lower mileage replacement. The original motor ran fine otherwise and is also available for sale. During the swap the following parts were replaced, most with OEM Ford parts:Fuel InjectorsCoilsSpark PlugsOil Pan GasketValve Cover GasketsIntake Manifold Exhaust Manifolds (including studs and gaskets)Oil Cooler LinesPower Steering LinesOil Pressure SensorEGR ValvePCV Valve (Puralator)StarterAir / Fuel FiltersFront Rotors and PadsDriver Side Catalytic Converters and O2 SensorsMobile 1 Full Synthetic Oil / Motorcraft filterSerpentine BeltBelt TensionerOther Gaskets / SensorsRear Differential Gasket - Full Synthetic Gear OilThis past October (2014) I replaced the front end components with Moog parts:Tie-rod Ends (Inner and Outer)Control Arms (Upper and Lower w/ Bushings)Ball Joints (Upper and Lower)Sway Bar LinksShocks (Motorcraft)A new pitman arm is included but not installed. Currently installed part did not need replacing. The windshield has a couple of small nicks on the passenger side. The body has small rust spots on the roof that are not very noticeable in my opinion and a small rust spot on the driver's side fender that is also not too terribly noticeable. The body is straight with no major damage but a lot of small dings and scratches as well as some scuff marks on the bumper. I've tried to describe the vehicle to the best of my ability but nothing can replace a personal inspection. While this car does run and drive very well and has been very reliable, it is a used car and as such it has no warranty. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. I will make the vehicle available to anyone who would like to take a look. I strongly suggest coming by to see this car in person and taking it for a drive. The photos tend to hide all of the small scratches and dings. The vehicle is at my house in Belvidere IL 61008 or with me at work in Rockford IL 61108. Full payment must be made and the vehicle picked up within 7 days of the auction's end or it will be re-listed. I have the title in-hand and will only accept cash. Sorry, I can not deliver it or accept any other forms of payment. If you have any questions at all please contact me.
