Vehicle Detail
For sale is this 1968 Firebird.I bought this last year at a estate sale,it has been sitting in a garage since 2001.The only thing I have done to it since I bought it was changed the oil,put gas in it and cleaned the spark plugs put a battery in it and it fired right up.The motor sounds good,no knocks or anything but could use a tune up and has a exhaust leak from the drivers side header it sounds like.It has what I believe to be the original but havent matched the #s pontiac 400 with edelbroack performer rpm intake holley carb accel distributor and coil. The old owner was deceased and a estate company was handling the sale so I was unable to get any info.It has a th400 transmission, again not sure if its stock or built but has a B&M tranny pan,new vacuum actuator and the torque convertor looks to be a aftermarket. The rear end looks to be out of a g body due to the mounts on the top,has a finned cover but havent pulled it to see whats inside.I have yard driven this only, didnt drive it on the road because it needs a brake line in the rear so the brakes do not work very well. The interior needs a complete overhaul, its pretty much all there but in rough shape and the front seats are not original, does have a nice hurst shifter though. The body has some rust but from what I can tell its 100% original meaning no replacement panels have been put in.The rocker panels are solid, drivers fender has some lower rot, passenger side floor has a couple small holes, trunk area is rock solid, frame is solid. It has some rust here and there but its a very solid car for its age.The hood is pretty beat but it came with another stock one thats very nice.It has some rear fender flairs that have been molded into the body, must have had some real wide wheels at one point and the rear spoiler has been molded as well.It has air shocks but needs a hose to be replaced to work.It wouldnt take much to get this on the road the way it is but in my opinion Id say it should have a full restoration done to it but again it does run and drive the way it is,just doesnt stop very well because of the brake line.I have a clean title with it,I have a bunch of pics,Ill post many but please email me if you want more. What you see is what youll get.Ill answer any questions I can but please remember I dont know a lot about it.
