DISCLAIMER: I AM OFFERING ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AS MY OPINION, (I AM NOT A MECHANIC BUT DID OWN THE CAR FOR 10 YEARS AND DROVE IT IN THE RANGE OF 130,000 MILES) AND AM TRYING TO BE AS HONEST AS POSSIBLE. I AM NOT OFFERING ANY WARRANTEE OR GUARANTEE. THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS. Hi All, This is a no reserve auction, I am selling my Chevrolet Prizm, bought in 2/2005. I am the second owner of the car and have had very good use from the car. It has been reliable, never broke down on me and never needed a major repair. I am selling it because it is old and I got a new car, it is fully functional and I have taken it on 200 mile roundtrips recently with no driveability issues. I actually just had new rear brake drums and shoes installed as well as new front brake pads installed about 1,000 miles ago and had a fresh oil change. I did all oil changes consistently in the 3,000 mile range until the car started burning oil on a consistent basis and as there was fresh oil put in about every 500 miles, I upped it to every 6,000 miles or so. I will do my best to list all defects known to me, because there are definitely minor things wrong with the car, but in general the car drives well and is perfectly safe to drive, First, the good; 1) Engine is solid. (It does burn oil about a quart every 500 miles) If you are familiar with the Prizm/Corolla this is a defect, and there are solutions out there, but they are above my mechanical aptitude. I did change the valve cover gasket and the oil consumption issue did get better. 2) Transmission is good. It shifts smoothly and I have not had any issues with it. 3) A/C is good, blows cold air and i have not had any issues with that. 4) Brakes are good, just put in new Drums and pads in back and new pads in front. (My mechanic recommended new rotors for the front because of vibration issues and I decided not to do it because it was not a safety issue, the full front brakes, caliper, pads and rotors were replaced about two years ago) 5) Tires are good see pictures. Fronts should have about 15-20,000 miles left. Backs probably 30-35,000. 5) Valid NJ Inspection through August 2016 Next, the Bad: 1) Engine does have a rough idle/ misfire at times, I have gotten random misfire codes at times, I don't have one now. 2) Engine light is on with Code P0420 Catalytic converter. 3) Intermittent wipers switch does not work, the low and high do work. 4) The wheel rims are bent. Last, the Ugly 1) The Body, see the pictures. Another vehicle hit me at low speed, hit the back left quarter and pushed it in, This happened about a year and a half ago, and is purely cosmetic it did not affect the driving of the car at all, the frame of the car is perfectly fine.
