Thank you! 1964 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX I am pleased to offer this exceptional Pontiac Grand Prix that includes Pontiac Historic Services PHS documentation. I thought I would first run down the codes for you. When looking at the pictures you will see the 421 emblems on both front fenders, you will also see the tri power emblems on the same fenders. PHS states that this Pontiac was assembled using engine code 26K – a 389 C.I. 4 barrel dual exhaust. The casting number on the current engine is 9776155 which is the correct number for the engine that it was originally built with. The numbers on the front of the engine block are 626K under that is 130223. I cannot determine if this is the original block as Pontiac did not do sequential number (engine block stamped the same as the VIN number) therefore I do not want to state that it is the original block or matching numbers. The cylinder heads have casting number 9773345 which are correct for a 1964 421 but it is my understanding that they were also used on the 389. The best news is the tri power intake is a correct 1964 – 421 3 carb with casting number 9775088. It is of course equipped with the 3 Rochester 2 bbl carbs. This Grand Prix was built with factory A/C, power steering, power brakes, dual exhaust, power windows and GM’s 4 speed hydromatic. All in all this is a very well equipped Grand Prix. The 8 lug wheels, vinyl top and tri power were all added possibly at the dealer level when new. I have provided many pictures of the body and undercarriage so you will see that it is rust free. Any rust underneath is surface only. The paint quality is above average but not Concours. The color code is P which translates to Aquamarine. The interior is all original, trim code 271. As you can see it is beautiful with lavish use of chrome. The engine compartment is nicely detailed and this Pontiac runs great. We felt some vibration in the brakes so this will need attention in the future. Even the exhaust sounds just right. The tires are like new and the chrome bumpers are superb. Items of note it will need a new A/C compressor and belt which I will include at my cost. They are very inexpensive as I get exchange units from O’Reillys and I do not have the spare wheel or jack.
