1930 ford model a 5window rumble seat coupe. This coupe was restored in 1992 I have pictures of the restoration and receipts. The car was later purchased by a retired navy captain in Arlington Virginia. The captain drove the car up till 2002 and than installed a new engine, I have the receipt for the engine. The captain was in his 80s by than and the car was parked in a garage for many years although he got it out once a year or so. I purchased the car from the captains estate 2 years ago drained the gas new battery changed the oil and have enjoyed it since. As far as the condition of the car. 1. the engine runs very strong and uses no oil, I have added a fuel filter inside the tank and an extra filter before the carb. The exhaust system could use some work it is getting time for a new muffler. The battery was replaced when I purchased the car. The car is equipped with a overdrive by Mitchell. With this overdrive you can have 6 Forward and 2 reverse gears and shift on the fly This is a $2,500 unit that makes this model A great to drive The clutch is strong with no problems. The car is equipped with a 6 volt alternator, I have a 6 volt generator I think that will go with the car It also has a transistor ignition. The brakes work fine with no problems stopping the car. There is a slight water leak from the hose from engine to top of radiator. I have not looked into this but I do not think it is a big problem. The body condition is fair There are some dings in the fenders and the running board molding is bent There is a slight spot on the drivers side in front of the door that just appeared it looks like some rust. The paint still shines . The top of cowl needs repainted from gas spilling over .. The hood has some dents but would be easy to fix. over all the body is in good shape.
