Vehicle Detail
LOOKS GOOD RUNS WELL. NEEDS A lot of work !!!!!!!!!! I have done a complete title search. This car has a clean title in spite of reports you might find. It had been involved in a minor wreck but it was not salvaged. The title IS clean !!!!!!!!! I am a women who got scammed and bought this car from a crooked dealer, posing as a private seller on Craigslist. He met me in a bad neighborhood with an empty gas tank so I did not drive the car enough to realize all the problems. Which is actually pretty genius and totally stupid on my part. I was not expecting a perfect car, it is a 2000 after all but the amount of work it needs is unreasonable for me. It would be reasonable for someone willing to do some of the repair themselves. My mechanic doesn't want to deal with it and thinks I'm better off taking a loss and getting something else Of course I will be losing money but if you can provide the sweat equity this could be a FUN AND RELIABLE car or a useful parts car. I previously owned a 1993 Maxima with the same engine and drove it until it reached 440,000 miles. That is the reason I purchased this one because the odometer reads 114,000 and I thought/think it has good miles left on it. As stated above this car needs a lot of work, including work on the clutch. It has enough clutch left to test drive and still shifts but is failing and about to go. So only serious buyers will be allowed a test drive. My mechanic says it needs a seal (and maybe a fly wheel) It does run well and you can run it in my driveway all you want. The most horrible thing this car needs is an emergency brake cable and speedometer cable and an odometer cable. I'm not a mechanic but I am totally guessing that it is a pain in the ass to repair/replace cable. It may only be stuck and not broken, I don't know. To the best of my knowledge the odometer reading in correct, except the few miles the crooked dealer (he only owed it 5 days) and I drove it. Next.... It would be a good idea to replace the ignition switch. I am guessing the key I have is not correct. (It was previously listed as having keyless entry, see link below). This is a cheap part but once it fails can be very difficult to replace on some cars. I know this from personal experience. It has been previously wrecked and the front bumper cover was replaced by the crooked dealer. The hood does not align perfectly on the left at one point but it is barely noticeable unless you are extremely picky and then you should not be buying a used 2000. Hiding underneath the front body, it needs swag bars/bushings and 2 outer tie rods. Not that big a deal. The a/c worked like a charm when I test drove it but not now, so I'm guessing it has a leak. It also needs at least 2 tires and new battery. It has an awesome exhaust which sounds great. The moonroof is cool too and works perfectly as well. So there you go. My honest listing to the best I am able. The Interior flaws are pictured. Remember it does RUNS WELL, looks GOOD and is a FUN car to drive but my mechanic doesn't want to deal with it and thinks I'm better off taking a loss and getting something else. HERE IS AN OLD AD I FOUND ON GOOGLE. Follow the directions below. The Odometer now reads 114208. There are other changes too !!! including additional wear to the interior. Repeating because someone was confused .......This is an old listing of the car I found on Google. NOT the current condition. Because eBay does not allow clickable links, enter "www." then this "empireautos11 dotcom " then "/vehicle-details/2000-nissan-maxima-se-4-door-sedan-3eba291db3124324af212bfe19899d35" or just try googling the VIN !!!!!!!!!! I have done a complete title search. This car has a clean title in spite of reports you might find. It had been involved in a minor wreck but it was not salvaged. The title IS clean !!!!!!!!! That covers everything I can think of so if you are interested Please contact me to come and look at it before you purchase. Thanks
