Very clean '97 Honda Accord. 4th owner. First owner was our neighbor. He bought a new Honda Accord every two years. Second owner always bought the first owner's Accord at the end of the 2nd year, which he also kept for two years. Third owner was my father, and eventually I bought it off of him. All the men were meticulous in their automotive care and all routine/scheduled maintenance was performed. All 4 owners are non-smokers. March 8, 2014, my car was parked in a parking lot and the car parked next to it side-swiped the front right fender. (That other driver was a teen and thought her car was in reverse instead of drive). There was minor cosmetic damage to the front right fender and front passenger door, but due to the age of the car and mileage, the insurance company totaled it. We bought it back, put in a new battery, and planned on giving it to our son for college -- but now he doesn't need a car. SO, it's for sale. It has not been driven since the summer (after it was retitled and we replaced the battery), so the mileage in the listing is still accurate. NOTE: The paint did not even chip from the accident, so no bare metal was exposed. No rust. Just the plastic running trim on the front right fender is missing. The metal is somewhat pushed in, which I tried to point out with the yellow arrows in one picture. But, since the damage is so minimal, it's not very obvious in the pictures. Check out the pictures and please email with any questions. No known problems with the vehicle and it runs great for it's age. The check engine light is on and when I went to have it diagnosed, it was noted that an O2 sensor needs to be replaced. The inspection will run out soon, and I know it will need new tires to pass the next inspection. Lastly, the front brakes will probably need new pads/rotors soon -- they were serviced two years ago but not replaced. Those are the only known items that will need to be addressed after purchase. Transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch is tight (aka: not sloppy... still a definite pressure point). (: Engine is quiet with no noises or knocks. We use 10w-30 in the motor, since it's a high mileage engine and always keep an eye on the oil level. No white clouds of smoke and no oil leaks, but I usually end up adding around 1/2 qt -1 qt every 3k miles or so, which apparently is expected at it's age. Overall, a great car, but we don't need a second car. Pick it up for your commuter vehicle. Great on gas and the 4-cyl engine still has plenty of get-up and go. No rust. Includes spare, tire changing tools, and original jack. (: Included in the auction with the car are: a full set of heavy duty (matching) floor mats for front and rear floor wells, a Home/Auto Sirius radio system (over $200 value). It includes the satellite antenna for the car (already installed), the automobile mount, radio face plate, and a home mount (so you can carry the face plate inside and use it there as well). All wires, original packaging, instructions, etc. are included. *Note: You will need to purchase your own Sirius subscription though. Also included is a Haynes repair manual, and a cassette that can connect your phone/tablet/mp3 player to the car's stereo system. *ALSO AVAILABLE, for additional $50 if interested* -- Yakima roof racks including two bars, four towers, four locks, and front wind faring/deflector* If you need roof racks, this is a STEAL! (Over $300 if purchased the entire set-up new). No rips/stains/tears/holes anywhere on the interior and (as pictured) overhead lining is in great shape and fully adhered. In addition to all oil changes, etc. here is a list of recent repairs or major maintenance done since I took over ownership. Timing belt and water pump have been replaced at the recommended mileage, but I don't have dates for that since it was a present from my dad (who has passed -- He had those service records). All in all, good owners. Great car. With the small updates above and it'll go for another 200k miles. (: 1/08 - new battery 2/08 - new starter. Has lifetime warranty.
