Vehicle Detail
First, let me mention what I know about the engine. It will start instantly, as good as any car can. It maintains proper oil pressure and does not have any knocking sounds. There is a slight click coming from the top of the engine that could be rocker or lifter? There is an exhaust leak that could be causing this sound. It is at the manifold and should be a gasket problem. A 4 barrel carburetor has been installed. I have not changed the plugs or wires, anything yet. It does sound great both standing in front, in the driver's seat and from behind the dual exhaust. The car was driven down the road at 50 MPH 3 days ago and she smiled at me when I got her back home. Even did a brief burnout! She has sat in a garage for several years. The transmission is Ford's Cruise --O -- Matic. It does have a slight gasket leak that I have not looked at yet (was told it could easily be fixed for $50). The brake system was changed from the original pads to front disc brakes at a cost of $2300 a few years ago as the previous owner had purchased it for his son and wanted to make it safer. The interior of the car is in good condition. The seats were redone, but in the original style and look great. Some of the carpet is a little sun-bleached, but that is a minor fix. The instrument panel is original equipment as is the steering wheel. The dash has one noticeable crack. The overhead of the interior is complete with no tears or cracks The body of the car has some minor rust in the doors, and a few other places, it is cosmetic but none in the frame to body connections that I can see (I included an underneath picture). This would be expected and the car does need to be repainted, even though from a distance it looks great. I took pictures of the lines of the car to show how it fits together. If you would like additional pictures, please contact me. I am proud of this car. The inside of the engine compartment looks great. No oil or rust noticeable. It has been reinforced but needs to be bolted in. The trunk does have a new plate inserted into the bottom of it (rust at some point?). All in all, this is a complete 1966 Mustang. It is a beautiful car worthy of the right person to bring it back to life. I am asking slightly more than I paid for it. I got it from a man that had it in his garage for quite a few years after his son moved on in life (he had a reason to let it go). A former automotive instructor looked at it and was very impressed. Were it not for a convertible that was available, it would be gone. He tested the metal with an electronic instrument and commented that he thought the car had only been painted one time. I have included a picture of the clear NC Title to this 66 Mustang. It is waiting to have your name on it! You must be able to come to Coinjock, NC and take delivery with cash on hand. The title is clear and ready to be handed to you. The deposit with Paypal is so that only a serious person will bid on this car and win the auction. If it is not as described, both Ebay and myself will guarantee your deposit is returned. Please notice my feedback rating. On Jan-09-15 at 18:17:16 PST, seller added the following information: Boy, once you post pictures of a car or write a description, eBay will not let you fix anything. The thumbnail pictures have been replaced with better pictures added at the end. Also, I must mention that the left rear brake is current a minor problem that I am working on (I am hiding nothing about this car that I know of). The reserve price is $5425. I must get this amount for the car or I will hold on to it. If it were a perfect car ready for the road and car shows, it would be for sale for thousands more that this price.
