Vehicle Detail
1966 Plymouth Sport Fury 2 door hardtop. The drive train is a strong 383 four barrel backed up with a 4 speed transmission. Finished in Dark Red poly with white roof and striking burgundy interior with black highlights. The car is from the Carolinas so there was very little rust to deal with. The car has been repainted, and most all chrome has been re-plated. Includes the front and rear bumpers, rear bumper lettering, interior roof and windshield and rear glass trim. Most of the dash plastic was also re-chromed. There is new weather stripping around the doors and also in the roof rails. The car has a new Legendary interior, new carpet, and new headliner. There is a new glove box liner. The trunk is clean with a new mat. The engine is not the original, but was rebuilt (by a previous owner) and came from a 1969 Road Runner. The car now has an electronic ignition and a complete new dual exhaust was installed. The engine compartment has been cleaned and repainted. The braking system was rebuilt with new shoes, wheel cylinders, hoses, etc. The clutch disc, throw-out bearing and pressure plate are also new. The shocks front and rear are new. Side trim (and there is lots of it) was polished and painted. One of the front fender "c" trim pieces still has some dents, as I just could not find a better piece. Carburetor was professionally rebuilt in New Jersey. The engine runs strong. The car is not perfect, so the new owner will need to attend to some small items. Those that I am aware of include fuel guage and water temp guage not working. Service manual suggests the voltage regulator on the back of the main instrument cluster, as that powers both guages. Interior lights and exterior lights work, minus the driver hood turn signal. It is missing part of the connector. I don't think the radio is working, but the car has factory rear speaker setup, and I installed new 6 x 9 inch speakers in the rear shelf. One tire had to be replaced, and it does not match the other three. The wheels have the Plymouth dog dish style hubcaps and they set the wheel area off nicely. The car has rear wheel skirts. The frame and much of the underside of the car was cleaned, painted and undercoated, but I wasn't able to put on a lift so more detailing could be done. There may be other items needing attention as well, but overall the car is a pretty nice muscle car with the very desireable 383 4-speed drive line. And I believe the color combination, including the interior make for a sharp vehicle. I do not have a title for the car, that is how I bought it. I would be getting one from one of the title companies if I were to keep the car. I am selling as I have many other projects that now have a higher priority for me. The car has about 85,000 miles recorded, and I believe that to be correct. To be clear, the car is sold as is with no warranty provided or implied. I tried to give an accurate description, but it may not be complete. PLEASE USE THE MANY PHOTOS AS YOUR GUIDE IN BIDDING, AND ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE THEM. THE TRANSPORT OF THE CAR WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER.
