Vehicle Detail

1966 VW Deluxe Bug Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Thanks for checking out "Fritz", he is an amazing little 1966 Volkswagen Deluxe Bug. When Ferdinand Porsche was approached to build these cars, no one new the impact these cars would have all over the world, what a design, what a car, the "Peoples Car". Fritz was bought new in San Francisco, CA by the original owner. He was sold around 1993 to some nice folks in Brookings, Oregon, just north of California After they enjoyed him, they sold Fritz to a very nice retired couple here in the Willamette Vally around 2006, it was bought for his wife, they always pampered it, had him repainted in 2006 as well, with new window gaskets and rubbers, the original deluxe window gaskets with chrome channels were getting old so replaced them as well, still have some of the trim if you want it. This little bug was cared for all its life, always garaged, it it shows, there are no signs of any major rust on this car, no signs of rust repairs, really in amazing condton. If you have been around VW bugs for any length of time, you will understand that they can have have rust issues. This car is amazing, the original VW pan has no repairs, and is VIN stamped and matches the body. This is an amazing pan, totally original, it is amazing underneath, no weak spots, no repairs, NO RUST. The body is the same way, no signs of any major accidents, clean inner tubs, inner fender wells, the nose are all hit free, very clean. He has nice paint, very clean, very straight. The car has some minor chips that have been touched up, very minor, paint is very nice driver quality, but you would take him to any show and have a great time. This car has been driven, and enjoyed, and has a lot of life left in him, just drive it, show it, and just enjoy the little guy. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 500 classic cars sold over the internet, with 100% Feedback. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. You may remember a 1965 Bug that I sold, very much like Fritz, his name was Sergio, he was white, red interior, pretty much a twin to this car, he went to a Museum in Mexico City, wish these two could be parked side by side, what a photo. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other like minded classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great, would love to help you out, if you want to call and talk about cars, it would be my pleasure, I am on the hunt for any Interesting classics, please give me a call, 503-910-2085 - Jason. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and which everyone a Happy New Year, were 6 days in, and enjoying 2015 already!!!!The drivetrain in this car is very good, the original 1300 engine #F0114771 , runs like a little sewing machine. Very hard to find the original engines in these cars actually. The engine was rebuilt in 1998, at that time it has 98K on the odometer, a new clutch was also put in. I don't have receipts for the engine work. The engine runs great, idles nicely, good power, the car has 121K on it now, so the engine has 23K on since it was rebuilt. It does not blow any smoke or burn oil, has a couple minor oil drips when it sits, main one is around the oil screen, needs a new gasket probably, nothing really to be concerned about, I think these old bugs dripped on the show room floor since day one. The original 4spd transmission shifts very nice, clutch feels great, all the gears feel very smooth. This little guy is very fun to drive, he gets a lot of looks. The brakes work great, no pulling stops nice and straight. The emergency brake works as well. The wheels are the original 1966 wheels, but they do have a little chrome pealing and flaking on the rims from the age. This is the first year of the slotted VW wheels, for 1966. The wheels do have trim rings on them, makes them look a little more flashy. The hubcaps are original as well, but do have some pitting on them. The tires are in very good shape, and have about 95% tread on them. Mechanically Fritz runs great. The interior is in very nice condition, seats look great, very clean, door panels are excellent. The carpet looks very nice, very little wear on the inside. The only thing that really needs to be done in the future is headliner is original, it has some wear on it, and a few small tears. All the gauges work, the interior lights work, very clean dash area. Original Sapphire 1 radio, does turn on and power up, but does not work currently. The car as an aftermarket CD radio in the glove box, hidden away and speakers behind the rear seat. All the interior lights work, very clean inside, stays nice and dry as well. Even the under dash light works as well. The horn works, wipers work as well. I love hoping in this car and taking it out on a spin, just feels great sitting inside, and cruising him. All the exterior lights are working as well, turn signals, brake lights etc.If you have any other questions about this bug, please give me call would love to tell you more about it, if interested in a buy it now, let me know. If you are interested in BUY IT NOW price let me know, Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085 EMPI mudflaps are a perfect fit for any bug. Notice anything interesting here? It has a very rare after market Lic. Plate light, and back up light. This was produced in Germany made by Gabel, Doppel - Ruckfahrscheinwerfer, made for 1964-1967 VW Bugs. And yes it works. Interesting it is connected to the Speedometer, when you start backing up, it senses the speedometer and turns on, and when you go forward it turns off. My 1966 Oregon Dealer plate stays with me, put it on for photos, when you went on a test drive at a dealer, they would put one of these on. The new Rack comes with the car, with the 2 belt straps. The luggage and my Vintage 1957 Cross Country skis, are only for props. As I mentioned earlier, the eyebrows, are not installed, if you want me to install them on Fritz I will do so, or I can put them in a box, either way they are yours. New luggage rack included with the car. Title matches the tag under hood, and under rear seat, very important. If you are shipping overseas, easy transfer, everything matches, and ready to go. VIN under the back seats, original pan to the car. Original 1966 1300 engine. F0114771, just a side note, the engine number on Porsche and Volkswagen, never match the VIN number. If you do your research you will see this is the correct 1966 1300. ]Notice the side panels below the seat, the cover up the framing, this are always missing, hard to find original item. Very nice door panels. You can see some small chips around the inner door edges, but nothing major. Correct 1966 VW Steering wheel, perfect condition, no cracks, very clean, and the horn works. The chrome door panel trim runs all the way back into the quarter panels as well, and chrome ashtray, very classy. Hidden CD player in the glove box, also has remote. Notice on the door, the shift pattern. Emergency brake light works. Odometer reads 21,015 only 5 digit. It has 121,015 on the car. Underdash is very nice, the light even works. There are 2 switch behind the light, one for the light, and one that is also an ignition kill switch for theft. Dome light works, when you open the doors. Original headliner needs replaced some day, they run about $75, pretty cheap. Down the sides of the car are very clean. The bumpers are in nice shape, with the over riders, love the look of them. The bumpers are original to the car, and have some pitting on them, you might want to have them rechromed down the road. Original spare, with sticker still on it. Very clean under the hood, no signs of accidents, or rust issues. This is usually a problem area, for rust, and damage, this car upfront is amazing. You can see here some of the pitting on the bumpers. Also the eyebrows I do not have installed, just taped them on, so you could see what it looked like. If you want them installed no problem, I can do it before it leaves. If you are interested in BUY IT NOW price let me know, Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085 This is were the car gets amazing looking, the floor pan is to die for, no rust, no issues, this is what every bug owner wishes for. Here is the vintage backup light working, very cool original German Accessory. 1964-67 Gabel - Doppel - Ruckfahrscheinwerfer Cheese Grater looks good, with German badge. New EMPI mud flaps.
