I purchased this car with 62,600 miles on it. The person was selling the car because the cam adjuster failed causing catastrophic damage to the engine. I purchased a rebuilt engine off of eBay. The engine ran great for 15,000 miles. After the initial break-in, I changed the oil every 5,000 miles using Mobil 1 0W-40 full synthetic. Unfortunately, I think the engine was poorly rebuilt. The head gasket blew at 78,000 miles causing coolant to enter the oil system. I pressure tested the cooling system to verify that the head gasket failure. Coolant is entering the cylinders and is coming out of the front of the engine near the coolant pump. In addition, the turbocharger leaks a small amount of oil into the intake, so it needs to be rebuilt or replaced too. Other than the engine, the car is in overall good condition. It drives great. There is some cosmetic damage (see photos). I considered purchasing a rebuilt or new engine with a warranty and replacing it myself again, but I just don't have time. This would be an excellent project for someone with the time to do it. The automatic transmission, A/C, power steering, brakes, radio, CD player, cassette player, & electrical system all work very well. 2 keys are included, but only one of the key-less remotes seems to work. It could be a dead battery, but I am not sure. I have never diagnosed the problem since the other one always worked. The original owners manual is included. The spare tire is in good condition. The tires have less than 20,000 on them. Tires replaced 2010.08.21 at 61,655 miles. The brake rotors and pads on front and rear, brake fluid, transmission fluid, & belts were replaced on the car at the same time the engine was replaced. I replaced vacuum air pump check valves at 71,000 miles. Two had holes in them. I purchased a new battery at 75,000 miles. The car is located near Decatur, GA 30033. Contact me if you have questions.
