Up for auction is this beautiful 1997 Ford F-250 Extended Cab, 6.5' bed, 4X4, XLT Truck with the legendary 7.3 Turbo Diesel Powerstroke engine and 5 spd manual transmission, 4.10 gearing (great for towing) This is the last year Ford produced this body style pickup. It is my favorite of them all and they will always be desirable especially with the proven 7.3 Powerstroke engine. The truck currently has 164,359 miles but is driven occasionally so it may change some. I am the 3rd owner of this truck, I bought it from a woman in Wyoming who had owned it since 1998. She used the truck to drive to work and back and occasional light towing. I searched for months to find a clean truck in this condition as somewhat of an enthusiast, and think this is a great example of these increasingly hard to find trucks. I get compliments on it all the time. Zero rust, starts, runs and drives EXCELLENT. Everything works as it should. I have taken great care to keep the truck in excellent mechanical condition and have chosen to keep it as stock as possible. While these trucks aren't as refined as modern day vehicles, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I have taken it on a handful of 400+ mile trips without a problem. I get mid to high teens gas mileage depending on speeds and conditions. The truck starts and drives as it would have new. It tracks down the road straight and the steering feels solid and tight, shifts through all the gears smoothly, 4X4 works as it should. The air conditioning works great, cruise control, power windows, doors, locks and full power drivers seat (rare option), power adjustable mirrors all function. Dual fuel tanks both work flawlessly, for cold weather starting, there is an engine block heater. There are no dashpad cracks as you often see on these 90's pickups. The interior is in excellent condition with some expected wear on the carpet and driver seat but overall, real clean. The transmission shifts as it should and power and acceleration are excellent. I have had the following work completed (have paperwork) since owning the vehicle: New Injectors (Ford dealer did these and also checked compression - numbers were stellar. This engine has a lot of life left in it!)New ShocksNew GlowplugsReplaced rear brake padsNew ClutchNew Goodyear Duratrac Tires 95% tread life remaining. Stock size.New 7-way trailer light plug. This unit will stream music wirelessly from your device, aux input, AM/FM, XM compatible, Bluetooth phone connectivity, Pandora streaming, etc. While this truck is in excellent condition, in full disclosure, I wanted to point out a couple imperfections as it is almost 18 years old. There is some slight clearcoat cracking on the roof and on the passenger bedside only. It is not noticeable unless you are looking for it. Nicks or dings typical of a vehicle this age. There are a couple quarter size paint chips on the roof.The power window/lock switch plate on the passenger door has come loose from its mounting. I haven't messed with it but it should be able to be repaired or replaced.If you are in the market for an OBS F250, you should seriously consider this one. It's a peach.
