Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2002 F-350 SRW 7.3 Diesel, 6 speed, 8' bed, 4x4, Air ride, Lariat leather, fully loaded truck. I intended on keeping this truck till I died but unfortunately I need the money. This truck has been babied and garage kept most of its life and hasn’t seen snow in years. I bought this truck off of the original owner who ordered this truck from the factory special. (since Lariat and leather do not usually come with a manual transmission). I drove across the country to South Dakota to buy it. Now you have the opportunity to own one of the greatest trucks Ford ever produced. I will do my best to explain everything that has been done to this truck. The Engine: The engine is the tried and true 7.3 Diesel made by International (also known as the T444E (turbocharged, 444 cubic inches, Electronic injection). This engine has been nothing but reliable and has already had that wiring harness problem under the valve cover thing fixed by Ford. The engine has the Banks Power Elbo installed at the turbo and is 4” diameter from the turbo out to the stacks which go to 5”. The engine breathes through a massive air filter designed for semi type trucks. The truck has been turned up and runs a DP tuner with custom tunes. This company doesn’t just make a cookie cutter program for every 7.3, they require the actual computer serial number on the truck to tune it specifically for that truck, plus the gearing and type of transmission. The tuner has 8 settings which include multiple tow settings, an economy setting, a high idle setting, and a + 140 hp race setting that will roll coal like a freight train. Oil has been changed every 4,000 miles with Rotella and Ford Motorcraft oil filters. Critical engine data is monitored by Iss pro gauges in the cab. The transmission: The transmission is the bullet proof 6 speed transmission. It has a custom machined side plate on the side of the transmission that is drilled and taped to fit a temp sensor that reads the transmission temperature in the cab. Rear Axle: The rear axle was completely rebuilt a few years ago, with new bearings, seals, and carrier. It was replaced with an ARB air locking differential which is great in the snow or mud. Air power to lock the differential is supplied by a 9 gallon on board air tank mounted under the bed and controlled by actual “big rig” air switches in the cab. Front axle: Front axle has all new Moog parts, including rotors, brakes, ball joints etc. Both front hub bearing assemblies have also been replaced. The truck was ordered from the factory with the 100% reliable manual lock in hubs. Many trucks were converted to this due to the unreliability of the automatic ones. Suspension: The rear suspension is stock and still provides plenty of clearance for the 38” tires. The front suspension is stock but has a custom made air ride system that lifts the front end about 5” over normal factory sag height. The front air bags run off a air ride height valve and the front suspension air can be dropped from inside the cab, (so you can reach the mail box or dive through window). On board air system: Yes this truck has an on board air system. Months of custom designing and machining were spent designing a machined aluminum mount to mount a York 210 air compressor on top of the engine and belt driven by the engine. The compressor clutch turns off and on as needed to keep the 9 gallon air tank reservoir psi between 90 – 120 psi just like a garage air compressor or big rig. The air tank is mounted under the bed and feeds air to a regulator under the hood and then to the cab to run things like the air locker and front suspension. There are also 4 train horn trumpets mounted under the bed that are fed by the air tank through a huge ½’ air line to a electric air solenoid valve. The train horns will sound when the regular horn is pushed on the steering wheel and also will “chirp” when hitting the lock button on the key fob, except rather than a chirp, you will get a ear deafening blast that can set off car alarms. If you do not want the train horns on you can simply switch them off (those switches are located on overhead console) you can turn the regular horn off or on and a separate switch turns the train horns off and on so you can have 1 both or none when you hit the steering wheel. 3 Iss pro EV gauges monitor the air pressures in the system. There is also a switch in the cab to turn the air compressor off and another switch to dump the air out of the air tank if you want to drain moisture etc. On the tank there are 2 ports with valves that you can hook up a regular garage air hose to so that you can run air power tools etc if you want. Interior: The interior looks like new, no cracking, fading, rips, tears, burn holes or anything. DUAL power heated leather seats! The carpet has also been protected by the weather guard floor mats. Alot of custom work has been done to the interior as well. Custom mount, to mount the Sirrius Satelite radio. Unit and antenna included. The CB is not included but the antenna, mounts and wiring installed into the truck is included. The dash has been custom designed to incorporate a ton of switches to operate the extra equipment this truck has. There are switches to control: off road PIAA lights mounted on ranch hand heavy duty bumper, air compressor over ride, auxiliary power solenoid to provide high power to the bed if needed, blue led dash lights, under wheel well lights (kind of like ground effect lighting) also switches to activate both low and high beams at same time. That combined with the off road lights = instant day. Also switches for back up camera (not installed) and LED back up lights. Air switches, mounted in custom machined aluminum mount operate the ARB locking rear differential, as well as a switch for dumping the air to the front suspension. Also a spare air switch. Those switch housings have even been machined to accept blue led lighting in them which looks amazing. Top of the line Iss pro EV (enhanced visibility) gauges monitor all the extra stuff going on. On the driver side A pillar there is a pyrometer gauge, transmission temp gauge, boost pressure gauge, and the bottom one is the controller for the programmer that you can shift on the fly. Above the windshield are the air pressure gauges. The one on the far left reads the main air pressure storage tank psi, the one in the middle reads the amount of air pressure in the front air bags, and the one on the right monitors the amount of pressure being sent to the rear air locker. The factory shifter knob has been replaced with an Eaton Fuller shift handle. (The shifting pattern is the same)There are air lines and air pressure hooked up to the flipper switch but it currently doesn’t do anything. I had ideas but never did them. The Eaton Fuller shift handle feels much better than the factory cheesy knob. Overall the truck is in great condition and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it across the country. The bed is probably the item showing the most signs of age. Some of it is starting to rust through some of the underneath parts and I was going to replace it eventually but never got around to it. From the outside tho it looks fine and it is still solid to haul anything you could dream up. The cab is in great condition with only minor surface rust on some parts of the underside, but absolutely nothing is rusting through on the cab. The paint is in great condition with very few minor scratches. As I said I am the second owner. The first owner installed a 5th wheel ball hitch in the center of the bed (under the bed). I unscrewed the ball hitch and never used it but the provision is there for it. Mechanically the truck runs great with no known issues other than its had a small oil leak for years. The after market cowl induction hood and 2011 tailgate are like new. The truck bed has been converted to use the newer tailgate with the pull out “man step” and fold up handle which makes it much easier to get in and out of. The lights on the gate are all LED and function as turn signals, brake lights and tail lights. Backing up you hardly even need the back up lights cause they are so bright! The exhaust stacks were designed in such a way that they do not interfere with hauling capacity. You can still fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the bed with no problems. The Stainless Steel visor mounted over the windshield was custom fitted from a Peterbilt to fit this truck and it looks sharp! I get compliments on it every time I take this truck out. It is solid as a rock and has been on there for years. I did not take the time to polish it or the stacks for the pics. The over the wheel well aluminum tool box is included and was installed to be easily removeable in a few minutes. It is great for storing hitches, tie downs etc. As you can see the factory tin bumper has been upgraded to a ranch hand style battering ram. It has provision for a winch. In the rear custom mud flap hangers were made to mount the international mud flaps. The tires are BRAND NEW, 38” pro comp load range E tires! Literally less than probably 100 miles on them. They are mounted on 18" 2007 forged aluminum superduty rims. Any questions just ask. Like I said, I planned on never getting rid of this machine and what that means to you is everything was done right and was meant to last. With that said, every modification that was done is reversible back to stock. The air compressor mount is not currently on the truck. I took it off literally a few years ago and took it to the machine shop to have them produce more of them to try to sell in the aftermarket world but they haven’t gotten to it yet. If you are the buyer and this is an item you definitely want, I will get it back no problem. If you don’t want it I’ll continue to try to do something with it. Please dont bid if you do not intend to purchase. Truck is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you want to look at the truck in person, contact me and we can set something up. Truck is located in south western Pennsylvania. Thanks for looking! -Matt
