Vehicle Detail
1996 F-150 XLT5.8 Liter, 351 V8only 15,193 miles Regular Cab, Long bed (8 ft). 4 wheel drive, automatic hubs Automatic transmission 4x4 Off-Road Package Towing PackageDual Gas Tanks Toreador Red and Silver Mist two-tone exterior Gray cloth interior This is the one you have been waiting for. The final year of the best bodystyle, with all of the best options. This truck has never been driven on a wet road. It is stored indoors and maintained as a 'museum quality' vehicle. This is not your typical Ebay low-mileage Ford Truck that is bought by a 'vehicle flipper', polished, waxed, and said to be perfect in every way. Those trucks are everywhere and they are a mess in person. This truck is exactly the opposite. Please take the time to read the description carefully. The paint is 100% all original. It has been maintained to extremely high standards. Only the finest Adam's polishes and waxes have been used. It is completely void of swirls and markings caused by improper care. The paint is deep, wet, and rich looking. This takes a special talent and dedication that goes far beyond typical detailing methods. We all know that pictures can make ANY vehicle look amazing. Paint can look almost flawless on Ebay and then in person it is full of defects. I urge you to closely look at any other comparable truck before you see mine. There is a huge difference between vehicles never driven on a wet road and vehicles that get exposed to weather, even if they are maintained exactly the same in all other aspects. The undercarriage is something to be proud of. It's the first thing I tell people to look at when they find out that the truck is original and not a rebuild. It is all natural, meaning it has not been spray-painted black, like many on Ebay or Autotrader (immediate red flag). There are original tags, stickers, and factory marks still on several components like the axles, brake lines, door jams, and coil springs. All of the parts that degrade over time such as bushings are in the same condition as the rest of the truck, immaculate. #1 rated Michelin tires were installed this year, in the original factory size and specifications. They ride very smooth and quiet. It is the general rule of thumb to replaced tires every 5 or 6 years, no matter how much they were used. The alignment was checked and it was perfect. It has never needed to be adjusted since new. The original shocks were replaced this year with top of the line Bilsteins in the front and Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks in the rear. The original shocks, while still appearing brand new, naturally lost pressure over time. All of the fluids have been replaced this year with top of the line Royal Purple Synthetic. This even includes the rear differential gear fluid and transfer case! The interior is the same condition as the day it was built. The trim has stayed flawless because it is kept out of the sun and dusted/vac after every outing. No 'armor-all' type product has ever been used, it only strips the trim of its natural texture and look. There are no 'armor-all' type plastic trim and tire shine products on this truck, inside or out. The seats and carpet are always covered during use. The areas that you will find typical wear are non-existent on this truck, such as the steering wheel, door arm-pad, window buttons, radio buttons, trim, and door sills. The exterior trim is as perfect as the day it was built. Really the only place you can tell the truck could even be considered a "used" vehicle is inside the bed. This truck has not been allowed to sit and age unattended. It always has fluids changed on time. Instead of starting it up weekly to just to idle, this truck is always taken on a short drive to bring it up to operating temperature, then driven for a few more miles before going back to the garage. The truck is fully inspected, from the brakes to the headlight beam angle, and everything in between. The professional inspector claims he has never seen a vehicle with 15,000 miles show as if it has only been taken on test drives at the dealership. Not to mention it's a 1996 F-150! The truck handles and drives as new. Yes, you hear that a lot on Ebay and Autotrader. Please drive another one and then come drive mine. It truly drives smoother and more pleasurable than any of the brand new trucks I have driven over the past few years. This truck is a daily reminder that there is no reason to buy a fancy new $40,000+ truck. The gas mileage is surprisingly good. It's equal to many 4x4's today, at about 18 mpg combined. This is due to the light-weight regular cab configuration and the 3.08 factory gears. This is a true MPG estimate. MPG drops considerably when going to an extended cab or crew cab with lower gears. I have only seen one F-150, 250, or 350 in the 1992-1996 Bodystyle on Ebay/Autotrader in the past 4 years that compares to this truck. It was an F-350, Regular Cab, Black, 7.5L, with 1,000 original miles on it. If you are the right buyer for this truck, you probably know exactly what I am talking about.35% tint has been added to the side and rear windows. The truck came factory equipped with body color matched (toreador red) side steps and chrome bed rails. They have been removed and stored. They are included with the truck. All 70 pictures were taken on 11/25/14. It all boils down to this one simple fact. You are bidding on a 1996 F-150 that is a nice as the one you wanted to buy....in 1996. If you want it shipped, I can help make arrangements. I only recommend enclosed trailer shipping for this caliber of a truck. Please contact me with any questions. Thank you!
