Vehicle Detail
I am selling this 1949 Mercury for one of my customers. He has switched gears and has decided to build a 51 Ford F1 truck. He is selling this Mercury to fund the build of his new truck. The Mercury has a good start to a James Dean style chop that the previous owner started before we picked it up. The chop does need to be finished but most of the work is already done. This Mercury has all the rust in the lower areas that you would find in most midwestern cars of this age. It will need inner and outer rockers, floors, trunk pan, lower quarter patches, inner door bottoms and lower door skins, ect.. I have found companies that sell both steel patch panels or fiberglass patches for this car that would fix all the rusted areas. One example is Gibbonfiberglass they have everything cheap to get this Mercury back on the road. There is a Buick 350 and Automatic transmission that is just sitting in the chassis but not bolted in (needs motor mounts fabricated). The original front and rear seat springs are in the car as well as a decent dash board. The frame is original. Also including an extra set of front fenders, doors, grill surround and hood to use as patch pieces. With some work this can become your mild custom, leadsled, hot rod or restoration. Please look at all the pictures and ask any questions prior to bidding. Serious bidders only - his loss your gain. This Mercury comes with a Bill of Sale only. I will answer all questions in the evenings (after 5:00 pm EDT) Thanks for looking and good luck bidding Payment: A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending. The balance is due prior to picking up or shipping the vehicle. Shipping: I will assist in loading the Mercury on your prearranged shipping carrier. I have shipped many vehicles in the past using UShip. You can link the eBay listing number for this ad to a Uship bid and receive shipping quotes prior to bidding. This will help you figure your overall cost and is a good method to have the Mercury delivered. I have had great luck getting vehicles delivered to me with them.
