Here we have the project you've been waiting for. This is a very original, matching numbers 1960 Roadster with a chain of ownership that can be traced all the way from its original delivery to the US at the famous Brumos dealership to the present day. Parked in a barn decades ago, it didn't see the light of day until we pulled it out this month, complete with animal tracks in the barn dust (see dusty pic). Chassis # 88061 which left the factory with engine #602949 and transmission #37921, which are both still with the car. The matching factory number stamps can also be found on things like the top frame, door tag and hood latch (see photos). Paint code on the door tag is Ruby Red. Hood is unkinked. This is a very original example which can be verified with the included factory Kardex print. While this is a great example of a very worthy restoration project, it will need a full restoration. The paint has begun to flake off in large chunks and rust can be found on the underside. Please see photos. The top is trashed but the original stamped top frame is in good condition all the way down to the corduroy. The car is as found and we have not attempted to fire the engine. The car rolls with ease and will be easy to transport. With so much originality and the provenance of having been originally delivered to Brumos, one of the most important Porsche dealers in the make's history, this will be a very special example when restored. Not many cars can show this many matching numbers and original characteristics. The car has a clear title and is ready for export.
