Vehicle Detail

72 Super Beetle in above average condition. Motor was rebuilt about 3,000 miles ago along with the transmission and the brakes. Tires have only that much mileage on them stamped 2013. Has an anti-shimmy bushing installed, this bug drives smooth (and its gone over 90 mph once on a level surface without wind)! Spare tire is in good shape, holds the air. This bug has some pep as far as these old bugs go. The heat works great after its warmed up, I had it out in clear conditions last winter in 8 degree weather and the heat had to be turned down after a while. I have not driven it in rain or snow. There has been no smoking in this car, smells like a bug! Oil was changed about 1,600 miles ago and the valves were tightened/oil replaced at the 1,000 mile mark after being rebuilt. JUST had the generator thoroughly cleaned and new brushes put in not 200-300 miles ago, plus new belt! Fuse box was rewired and some new fuses added. All the lights/signals work, high/lo beam. New fuel filters were put on about 1,000 miles ago. There are some minor dents/dings that aren't terribly noticeable but should be ironed out if you want it perfect. There was some bad rust where the battery sits and I had that whole thing cut out and re-welded in with a new piece and undercoated a couple months ago, its VERY SOLID and you can see it in at least one of the pictures. Tailpipes need to be replaced to look nicer, but they work. Most of the rust and paint issues you can see in the pictures, I tried getting a picture of everything. Nothing but pure gasoline has been run in this engine, no ethanol stuff! I bought it from a VW mechanic last July who did all the motor/mechanical work to it. This car was purchased at the dealership he works at in 1972. I have the original owners manual with the name of the guy who bought it brand new, regular maintenance/service records up until 1978 at 26,977 miles. I believe it was basically a one car owner by this man and his children, (until the VW mechanic I bought it off of acquired it and then sold it to me). I did not plan on selling this car but I am going to join the service and I don't want to pay storage fees just to have it sitting in a garage somewhere for who knows how long - this car needs to be driven and loved! It has an AM/FM cassette player, 4 speakers, and 2 subwoofers in a box behind the seats. I have a cupholder you can put in where the ashtray is. I have an assortment of original and new parts all of which I will throw in (knobs, vents, oil kits, new drive belt, cassette tapes). The windshield wipers work and the washer system with exception to a small rubber hose that sits on top of the tank that needs replaced. I also have all kinds of books which are pictured which will tell you or your mechanic everything you need to know if a problem arises. Seat belts are laying on the floor because they are black and don't look good with a white interior. There is a porcelain vase behind the steering wheel if you want to add flowers or whatever. Car is covered 95% of the time and always in inclement weather, of course the car cover comes with it, its a nice custom deal that is in excellent shape. For all you bug enthusiasts, I think you know what you're looking at here. The rest of you, if you have any questions feel free to ask me and I'll certainly do my best to answer/explain. I have more pictures, I was disappointed it would only let me add 24, so ask and I can email them or specific ones. Any type of legitimate payment (as I see fit) is accepted, Paypal, money order, cashier's check, etc . Come pick it up, it is inspected and ready to be driven. Only a few miles from a PA Turnpike exit. I can take a half day at work or something if you want to do it on a weekday so we can get everything transferred over (although Saturdays are preferred, I think theres notaries around here open till noon or 1PM).
