Listing a 1993 Mitsubishi Jeep J53, also known as the CJ-3B. My first car was a 1957 CJ 5, and despite this one being a '93, it resembles that "old school" tradition in many ways. In 1953 Willy's licensed Mitsubishi to build and market the jeep for the Japanese market. Mitsubishi continued production until 1998 with little changes other than the powerplant. I purchased the vehicle already in the US so therefore do not have import paperwork but do have a clear Ohio title. This title should transfer to just about any state. I'm not exactly sure on the emission requirements regarding California so that would be something to look into for CA residents. Being a diesel , 1997<, I think it's exempt but it's been awhile since I've lived there. It is a right hand drive (RHD) vehicle and so might take about a half hour to become familiar with the drive position. It's ideal as a rural postal vehicle. Of course top is easy to remove but also the full wind screen does fold down just like the older Jeep's. Cosmetically the truck is fairly rust free. I have supplied a video below to show the underside of the Jeep and it looks great. The passenger seat was replaced from the original to add some comfort but the new owner may elect to find a matching set to enhance the appearance. Canvas top is free from tears and stitching is excellent. All plastic "glass" is in fantastic condition. Power comes from a Mitsubishi 4DR6 Turbocharged diesel inline 4 cylinder. Mechanically, everything works on this Jeep. Although the short wheel base would make the trip less than comfortable, this Jeep is definitely more then capable of doing a cross country trip. Puddles in the pics below are simply from a rain shower earlier in the morning that the pics were taken. Does not leak any fluids whatsoever. If financing the car, ensure your lender will finance it without a "blue book" value or NADA. Also, double check with your insurance company on insuring gray market cars (that's cars sold in the US but never intended for the US market).
