Vehicle Detail
This is a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback Coupe. I will describe the condition of this vehicle exactly as it is with no exceptions. i Purchased this vehicle 3 years ago from an individual in North Carolina. I do not know how many owners it has had, but, per seller and other information, vehicle was purchased new in Charlotte, N.C. and has been a Carolina car since. My intentions were to make necessary repairs and/or replacements and enjoy as it was. However, due to some bumps in the road, and, especially my daughter with in-curable brain cancer, i have decided to sell and let someone else enjoy. I am not an auto dealer, nor someone who flips cars. This vehicle is as solid as any of its age i have seen.Body is as solid as a rock, all lines meet and match perfectly and no rust that i have seen. Trunk pans are original and in great condition. Floor pans look great also from top side and bottom side as far as i can tell. All glass is crystal clear and perfect, chrome is in great condition , bumpers in very good condition,(do need to be buffed), all badges are excellent except for the Galaxie badge on the left front fender(it is broken but still all there) grill in great condition, tailights, headlights all in great condition. Body color is Rangoon Red.This is not the cars original color. Per VIN, the original color was Aztec Gold. Car has been repainted some time long ago and really looks good as is. Would look like a million bucks if someone could professionally buff her out. As for the interior--it is in very good condition and is the correct color of Aztec gold. However, it looks almost red due to a bit of fading.Carpet has been replaced at some point and in very good condition.Seats are in very good condition also, but, rear seat has a tear as pics indicate ab=nd so does drivers seat. Dash is in acceptable condition and all gauges clean and clear. Engine is 390 V8 and is very quiet. Does not smoke or knock. Had a few items done to car a few months ago. Carb re-built, new alternator and selinoid switch, new plugs and wires, points and condesor. Fuel tank was to have been removed and cleaned out and mechanic did not do so. Engine rus great above 65 mph but a little rough below that point. The old gas is still in tank and smells bad. So much for the work i had performed. These items will need to be done, as well as, the rear main seal( between engine and transmission)it leaks a bit after driving. With just these repairs performed this is all you will need to do to her to cruise your main street as i planned to. Car is totally driveable now and steering is tight---no play what-so-ever. Transmission shifts as it should and is smooth. As with most all old cars i have seen listed, this car is sold "AS-IS, "WHERE-IS with no implications of warranty or guarantees.I will require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 3 days of close of auction and balance before car is released. PAY PAL OR CERTIFIED CHECKS.ALSO, BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CHARGES FOR SHIPPING, and/or transport. I will gladly assist with pick-up. There is a modest reserve on vehicle. Good luck with bidding--this is a good one!!!!
