Vehicle Detail
This is a 1955, first series Chevy pickup. For those who don't know, Chevy changed the styling midyear on their '55 pickup trucks. This is the last one with the older style body that was used from about 1948 until the mid-fifty-five's. The truck needs very little finishing. The build started on the original '55 frame. A 1970/71 Camaro subframe was added on the front, which provides us with a stabilizer bar, new shocks, power steering, power disc brakes and a great ride and handling. On the backside, the frame was boxed in critical areas to support the new four bar set up, which controls the 2003 S10 rear-end. Coil over shocks and rear disc brakes finish out the rear suspension. A brand-new driveshaft with new U joints was recently installed. The powertrain, with approximately 25,000 miles, came from a 1993 Z28. 305 hp with an added roller cam give this truck a lot of power. The heads were freshened up with new valve seals. The transmission has a shift kit that becomes obvious when you drive it. A new intake, new plugs, new wires, new distributor cap, new starter, Edelbrock carburetor, and water pump were recently installed. A 100 amp alternator provides plenty of power for your electrical system. The great sounding stainless exhaust exits under the bed in front of the rear tires as shown in the photos. The interior is beautifully done in red upholstery, red rug, and black paint. New gauges tell you what's going on and a vintage Sears air-conditioner keeps it all cool. This truck has a killer Pioneer CD/DVD player which will blow you out of the truck. The seat came from a Cadillac Escalade, but looks like it was custom-made for this truck. Electric wipers are installed, but you will need to hook up the passenger side. New tinted glass was installed all around, along with new window channels. Classic style ET wheels and new tires help this truck get the traction it needs for good acceleration and handling. This truck rides great, runs great, stops great and most of all gets a lot of attention. It's not perfect, but is a great start to a neat hot rod. The body is straight and rust free. A little bodywork and paint would turn this into a show car. PLEASE CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS...RICK @ 636-299-7850
