1987 Bentley Eight This is a 1987 Bentley Eight that has spent the past year in storage. With a new battery fitted the engine turns over easily; however it has not been driven or started since being stored and will require repair work to bring it back to life. Here is what I know about the car: the driver’s door is damaged including the driver’s window and rear driver’s side passenger window glass, which are broken. The door was removed and attached only for pictures. I have all of the interior trim pieces and all of the motors for the door, which are included with the car. The car has been sitting for a year and will need a new battery and all of the fluids flushed. The transmission motor will need to be reconnected, which is a simple fix and was detached to allow the car to be pushed while in storage. The ignition turns and works properly; however the key broke while inside of it. The body could benefit from some cosmetic attention. There are areas that are dented, nicked and faded. The original tail lights and blinkers were cracked and damaged, and the replacements seen in the pictures are not included in the sale. The brakes and suspension are believed to be in good working order and I cannot see any visible leaks in the hydraulic system. The transmission is believed to be performing properly. All of the gauges and lamps inside of the car appear to be functioning correctly. Other than a few tears confined to the cushion of the driver’s seat, all the leather on the passenger seat and rear seats is in very good condition, as is the leather on all of the arm rests, headrests and sun visors. Most of the interior wood, with the exception of the left front and rear door sills, is in excellent condition. The dashboard, glove compartment, front and rear passenger window sills, rear passenger foldout tables and rear passenger mirrors are free of the typical cracking and peeling commonly seen in these cars. The headliner is in excellent condition, is very clean and free from any tears or sagging. All of the original carpeting is in excellent condition including the carpeting in the trunk compartment. All four, original Bentley Speedline aluminum wheels, plus spare, are in excellent condition without any dents, gouges, or curb-rash. Original sets in this condition alone frequently sell for close to the Buy-It-Now price for this entire car! (The locking center caps that are pictured are not included in the sale). All of the tires match and have plenty of tread remaining. Overall, this Bentley would make the perfect restoration project for the at-home hobbyist or mechanic! All parts of this car are factory, genuine Bentley, including the 6.75 liter V8 engine and original transmission!
