Vehicle Detail
This car starts up fine and runs good. It's fun to drive and reliable. You won't find another one anywhere in this area or maybe even the US. It's rare in the US, but not in other countries. They just don't sell them here anymore. They have great suspension and when you go over those Portland road bumps they've put in everywhere you don't even know it. It passed DEQ a few months ago with no problem. So it's good until 2016. Gets 40 miles to the gallon. It does need some work to make it really wonderful and someone who wants to put some money or work into should be the one to get this car. This is really a collector type of car, but also makes a great, economical around-town car.Parts can be easily obtained online, but do nit expect to find a Peugeot 504 at your local junk yard, to pull parts from. It needed side mirrors when I bought it and I had no problem finding them on uk ebay for a reasonable price. Here is what I know it is needing. 1. The drivers seat needs to be upolstered if it bothers you that it is not nice. 2. The sun roof is hard to open, but it does open. 3. The passenger side automatic window just started acting up and I don't trust it to roll down as rolling up is a problem, but these cars come with a manual roll up thing that is supposed to roll up the window. I still have it. 4. Sometimes the passenger side door lock will not unlock and then later it will unlock. I don't get it, but I am sure it's minor. Currently, it will not open, but last time it did this it just suddenly started working fine, on its own. The power steering fluid leaks, but I've had the car 2 years and only added fluid twice so it's not something that is major. That's about it. It is an old car. The odometer reads 155,000 and is believed to be correct. But, there is no way of knowing for sure. In its day this car was built to compete with Mercedes as the top luxury sedan. Although as such it was sold with air conditioning, I have not marked it as having A/C as it certainly is not going to blow cold after more than 30 years. I honestly do not think that you can find a nicer 504 for twice the price. Please write with any specific questions.
