If you have been shopping around for a nice rust free Westfalia Camper . Well your in luck here . This 1971 Westfalia is in my opinion one of the best year for VW Buses . It was the first year power front disc brakes were installed from the factory ,and the last year they offered the very reliable 1600cc dual port upright engine . Making the 1971 VW Bus the last of an era of the early style buses . I purchased this camper from an older couple who had owned and cared for this bus for many years . The bus was originally from California and would explain how rust free this camper truly is . It is powered by a 1600cc Dual port engine , and runs amazing ,super strong , has a new clutch . The transmission shifts smooth . Front end is tight and it drives down the road great . The front seats have been redone in the original style seat upholstery ,as well as new door panels were installed . The pop top canvas was just replaced so screens and zippers are perfect . The upper hammock was also professionally redone . Bus is also equipped with the child's cot. The interior of the camper kit is 100% original and a true survivor as its 43 years old and still in great shape . It does show its age a bit , but still has many years of life left in it . Original spice rack , sink , icebox is all in good shape . This bus also comes with the very rare stool which is nice when seating 4 people around the table . or pulling it outside and having a nice comfy seat . This bus also comes with an aftermarket side awning and poles .Great when camping to keep you out of the sun . The body of this bus is in great shape never having rust repaired . The only area that was repaired was underneath the battery . The exterior of the bus is good and straight and was repainted the factory Pastel White . The inside paint is original as is the engine area . If I had to rate this bus 1 being the worst I've seen and 10 being trailer queen . Id say this is a pretty solid 8 . But again that's my opinion . This bus is in great shape . Any one who buys this bus, is buying something that is only going to appreciate over time . These buses are very collectable these days . And buses like this just are getting harder and harder to find . You can feel proud to drive this classic into any VW show and get plenty of attention . Its a great bus for a family to road trip and enjoy camping right now . The bus is currently licensed and titled in my name .
